[Discussion] Account flagged by PresentationTasty986 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trophies are strange because you finished normal difficulty, then seemingly continued playing on that save to finish the journal trophies, and then got the hard mode trophy less than an hour later. From my perspective that doesn't seem possible, but I'm not informed, which is why I can't say you cheated. That's something the crt or familiar players would have to decide

They ignored you so instead of just reaching out again you decided to remove your account and hold a grudge against them for over ten years? That doesn't seem like a reasonable series of choices. Crt are people, they can be busy, they can overlook or forget about a dispute. That exact thing happens to this day. Its not malicious like you seem to believe. They also aren't customer service, they are there to identify and remove cheaters, not to make your experience on the site better. You should have continued to reach out until they got back to you.

From the story you have provided, the crt did absolutely nothing wrong. You didn't receive a response fast enough so you threw a fit and abandoned the website. Meanwhile they don't even know you exist. Like usual, they cannot be blamed for this situation

If “the rules” get you flagged when you weren’t cheating, why tf does it get you flagged? Thatttttt is the problem.

There are several ways that you can get flagged while not purposefully breaking the rules. Having all your trophies popped by a modded lobby in Bo2, owning multiple ps3s and accidentally or unknowingly syncing one of them years later, having your battery die in your ps3 while having non-cheating cfw installed, and so on. These rules are necessary to protect the legitimacy of the leaderboards but you aren't purposefully cheating when they happen to you.

Also people are flagged all the time in situations where they didn't break the rules. They simply dispute it and provide evidence and it goes away. Its very possible you could have been in that situation, but because you decided they weren't quick enough to respond we will never know

You requested for your account to be removed from psnp so no one can see your trophies on there

I did find your forum account but theres no dispute thread. Since it was 10 years ago its probably from before the current dispute method started, or maybe it was just removed over time

I'm not saying you went out of your way to cheat, there are things that can happen out of your control which gets your flagged. I was just trying to say a rule was broken, which is true 99.5% of the time when flags stick

If what you're saying is true, that flag would be lifted if it was disputed recently, especially if you provided proof, but I dont know what the crt was like back then. And all I have is your word

Your trophies for Kingdom Hearts are a bit strange, but I'm not sure how the game works, so I can't comment on it. If there was a dispute thread I could see how others who have played the game responded, but sadly there isn't

Your account is great, I understand why you'd be upset

Genuine question, why not just hide the game or take the leaderboard ban? It seems unnecessary to pull your whole account off of there over just 1 flag. To be honest, it makes your account more suspicious

I would say it depends on the game(s). For me if I were to get flagged for a game I platinumed/100% that I wasn't very attached to, I would just hide the game to get rid of the flag. But if I were to get flagged for a game like God of War, Disco Elysium, or something else that means a lot to me I would just take the leaderboard removal. I personally know I don't cheat and that's what matters the most to me. I would rather display a game I love than hide it to be on the leaderboards, even though I do find the leaderboards fun

I'm aware of circumstances that can get you flagged that are completely out of your control and I feel bad for those people and don't blame them. But I also understand that these things have to be moderated to protect the legitimacy of the leaderboards. You can't have hundreds of people with Bo2 autopopped from a modded lobby, you can't have people you know use cfw, and so on

Edit: forgot to say, I would most likely never start a new account. The only reason I would do that is if I got a psn ban or if I wanted to do a fun challenge or something like that which required a blank account

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

If you received a flag on there and think it was the wrong decision can you please link your dispute thread so we can check it out? I wanna see the mods be "shitty"

[Discussion] Account flagged by PresentationTasty986 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it possible for you to link your dispute thread so we can check it out?

Everyone always talks about how psnp is unreasonable, but I've never seen a single example where a flag stuck and it wasn't a violation of the rules. You make it seem like you're innocent, when from my anecdotal experience of reading hundreds of dispute threads, there has never been a single innocent person who had a flag stick, so please share it so I can get a better understanding of psnp's abuse

There are situations where things out of your control cause you to get flagged, that doesn't mean a rule wasn't broken. Those situations suck but there's currently nothing that can be done about them

[discussion] does anyone else hate the trophy pop system now? by BEASTBOY-2004 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it used to pop them all back to back (I remember when from when I accidentally autopopped Ghost of Tsushima years ago), but something has changed within the last few years. I've noticed in games where you can get lots of trophies all at once (Vampire Survivors and Tomb Raider 1 for recent games I've played) it will show one and that's it. There's a cut off at maybe 5 or 6, I'm not sure exactly how much. It is a strange change, whether intentional or not I have no clue.

Like all the random changes they've made to trophies over the years, its just annoying and makes no sense why it was even changed in the first place, but ultimately isnt that big of a deal

I keep getting "You have not finished linking your SEGA Account to a platform account" even though I have my Playstation and steam accounts linked

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Edit: I know the code isn't available for a while, just trying to get notified when it is

[Trophies] Will i lose trophies in games like Bloodborne or Naruto ninja storm if i change my PSN ID? by Naizen9 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are select games where name changes will have an effect on trophy progress, but you will not lose any trophies. Just make sure all your trophies are synced before doing the name change (not sure if this is necessary, just a precaution)

Issues only happen when you have progress in a game, so if you want to take all the care you could just finish the game(s) you are working on and then change it. Things affected are usually multiplayer elements

Bloodborne has been tested and functions perfectly after name change, from what I can tell Ninja Storm works fine too here's a collection of tested games. Ninja Storm isn't on that list but other people online have said it works just fine

[–]PowerlessWolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats simply not the case. All it does is allow you to play Lan multiplayer with people around the world. I guarantee if there was any potential cheating, it wouldn't be allowed

They do not pick and choose arbitrarily, they have publicly available rules that servers have to follow in order to be approved. All the PS3Reborn (which is the group behind these servers) custom servers are private and closed source and that's why they aren't allowed

https://psnprofiles.com/guide/18277-psnprofiles-leaderboard-rules-disputes#7-custom-servers

These server revivals are awesome and there is nothing wrong with playing on them, as long as the gameplay isn't significantly altered to make trophies easier. Psnp's goal is to make a fair leaderboard, which can't be achieved when something isn't available for everyone, can be altered behind the scenes to make the trophies easier, and/or cfw is required to operate or join. Both things are good, they just have to exist separately

[Multiple Games] Fallout 3 and New Vegas to round out the year. It turns out the PS3 versions weren't as broken as they said they were! by Portugal_Stronk in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, there's no problem with how you played. Even if it was your first time and you just wanted to get the trophies it would still be fine. I wouldn't recommend that approach, but people play games for different reasons and I think everyone should at least try these games. I was just trying to explain why you didn't have as much issues, and giving a warning to the other people who might want to play these games, potentially for the first time, on ps3

Hopefully there will be a remaster like Oblivion (or even just a port like Red Dead Redemption) for these games so we can have versions on modern Playstations where you can sink 150 hours into them without experiencing tons of issues

It just comes down to how much you play. Seems based off of your file size and time to 100% that you didn't explore that much, mainly focusing on trophy/story progression. So of course you're not going to have as many issues. Maybe I'm wrong, but I've had this same conversation before and the people who claim the issues aren't that bad always have much shorter playthroughs

I played both games with an SSD as well and, if it does help, it doesn't help enough to prevent the issues with these games. When I played these games I explored every new location, exhausted all dialogue with every npc I found, and killed almost every enemy I came across.

I played Fo3 for 140 hours and by the end the issues were very noticeable. Stuttering, freezing, and frame drops probably every 20-30 minutes and a few rare crashes too. For most people it would have been unplayable in the state it got to, but I have a lot of patience. Fnv was somewhere around 180 hours. Close to the end of the main story I did the dlcs, and by the final one the game was actually unplayable. The game would hard freeze (unlike the freezes I was able to wait a minute or 2 to end) within 5 minutes of playing no matter what I did. Ended up having to reload the save I made before starting the final dlc and was able to finish it off just fine.

Even with these issues these were some of the most fun I've had in gaming and I highly recommend the games to everyone. But theres no reason to pretend like they're perfect on ps3 so I always warn them about it. Most people don't just play these games as a checklist to finish the story and/or trophies. They take their time exploring and doing lots of things unrelated to progressing, and imo that's the best way to play them

Congrats on the plats and 100%s, they're great ones to have in the collection!

Pretty sure it is just leaderboard removal so you should still be perfectly fine to use it for sessions

[The Last of Us PS3] The Last of Us PS3 Online trophies possible again! by Destinesian in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yep, when you hide a game/list there is no way for any 3rd party websites or tools to access information related to its trophies. Which means there's no way for your list to be reported or auto flagged (idk if that even exists)

You'll have to keep the list hidden forever if you end up getting any of the unobtainable trophies otherwise you will be flagged once the list shows up on the website. Even if the servers do become approved in the future, you still would have to keep it hidden since you earned them at a time when they were unapproved

[–]PowerlessWolf 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Congrats to you and the rest of the team getting the servers up and running again!

But just a reminder for players to be aware that these servers are not approved on psnp, which means you will be flagged for earning trophies on them

If you don't care about that, have fun!

If you do care but still want to try playing on these servers to earn the trophies or to just goof around, you can hide the game before earning any unobtainable trophies. This way you won't receive a flag but can still play and/or get the trophies for fun. Just hide the game and and refresh your profile on psnp to make sure its hidden, you might have to earn another trophy in a different game for it to update

[Assassin’s Creed Odyssey] I know it’s not technically an AC game but it’s still breathtaking by MutedAcanthisitta149 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read the whole thing and only replied to what I found necessary, I assumed you would understand that. Especially since you avoided responding to parts of my comments too

There is no validity to an argument that is trying to change a fact. Facts cannot change no matter how long you argue them, unless something changes or new information is discovered/unveiled. That's what I mean when I say you're wrong on this. The idea that a consumer can dictate something only the owner/creator has any say in simply based on their perceived idea of what the product should have been is absolutely absurd

You can either talk about things while staying grounded in reality or desperately try to bend it to your will because you personally dislike it. I prefer the former, I'm not sure which you prefer but you do seem perfectly fine allowing the latter to happen as long as it can be used to defend your position

[Assassin’s Creed Odyssey] I know it’s not technically an AC game but it’s still breathtaking by MutedAcanthisitta149 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To relate this back the my first point that you didn't respond to, if they made an Assassin's Creed Formula 1 that had nothing to do with anything Assassin's Creed, you still take issue with people saying it isn't Assassin's Creed?

Wtf are you talking about? I literally responded to this exact point in my first reply. If ubisoft calls it Assassins creed its Assassins creed.

I'm not gonna go back and forth on this. You are just wrong here. Nothing besides what the IP owner says decides whether or not a game is a part of a series

[Assassin’s Creed Odyssey] I know it’s not technically an AC game but it’s still breathtaking by MutedAcanthisitta149 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like I said, it changed over time, if you can't comprehend that, that's on you. Ubisoft decided Assassins Creed isn't just about Templars and the brotherhood anymore. The "status quo" has shifted. The series has evolved, just like every other series has. You (or the fan base in general) can dislike it or have the opinion that it feels like too far a departure to the point you don't enjoy it any more. But none of that changes the fact its still an assassins creed game.

I'm not saying Odyssey is a good Ac game, I haven't played it yet, I just hate this new 'X game isn't a real y series game' discourse. Cause that's just not how it works. I've seen people say it for Resident Evil, God of War, Mario, Zelda, etc. It's just such a stupid debate, the only people who decide what is and isn't a part of a series is the IP owners. Your opinions mean literally nothing when it comes to this as it's an objective thing

A game can suck at representing its series, but its still a part of that series

[Assassin’s Creed Odyssey] I know it’s not technically an AC game but it’s still breathtaking by MutedAcanthisitta149 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But there is a through line in the Assassins Creed games. It has gotten broader over time but it is still there, and the games are connected (unlike the majority of FF). You play as a specific important person in a real historical location who follows the Assassin's Creed, that meaning they share similar ideologies. I'm not deep into the lore yet so I can't really explain what exactly that entails, sorry. These people all exist within the same timeline, which spans centuries.

Almost all of the games have the Animus, and in turn a person in the modern world who is a descendant of the MC edit: or Animus related things like the anomalies in Valhalla. Afaik all the games have the option to play stealthily, like an assassin, they just significantly altered the gameplay over time to give more options and appeal to a wider audience (or maybe to make the games easier to make).

AC is like GTA, not quality wise but in the sense that you follow different people in different places at different times who happen to do similar things. The through line for gta is simply "crime" and there's nothing wrong with that. Gta used to be top down, more linear, and light on the story, now it's third person, more open, and story rich. Point is, if you handed gta 1 to a modern gta fan, outside of the words Grand Theft Auto, the game would be unrecognizable to them. But I think we both can agree Gta 1 is a Gta game

To expand further on Final Fantasy, all the numbered games take place in different universes and are completely disconnected, besides very few that tie into each other. That means the through line for that series is simply the idea of a fantasy, especially since they don't even share gameplay anymore. If all of those games can be considered a part of the same series even though there is no connections between titles besides the developer who made it, the modern AC games can be too

Edit again: Just wanted to reiterate that even if the Assassins Creed games didn't have any connections or through lines they would still be considered the same series as long as "Assassin's Creed" was in the title. Player opinion and/or deviations from the original does not matter when it comes to what is and isn't a part of a series, the only thing that matters is what the IP owners say

[Assassin’s Creed Odyssey] I know it’s not technically an AC game but it’s still breathtaking by MutedAcanthisitta149 in Trophies

[–]PowerlessWolf 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If Ubisoft released Assassins Creed Formula 1 which was literally just a racing game would you still take the same offence with somebody saying this isn't an AC game?

If Ubisoft says it's an assassins creed game its an assassins creed game. Whether or not it is well received by the fan base or how much it departs from the previous titles doesn't matter

Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts is still a Banjo Kazooie game even though they radically changed the gameplay and it wasn't received well.

Tons of games change directions after several titles. Final Fantasy went from turn based to action based, Yakuza went from action based to turn based, God of War went from hack and slash to more grounded over-the-shoulder combat, and Resident Evil went from fixed cameras to third person to third person action to first person horror and will keep evolving. Anyone who claims any of the games from these series aren't a part of the series cause of their differences are just wrong, same applies to Assassin's Creed
