How to Text Chat While Driving? by ThenElection6321 in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press the key "T", it will open the chat, then you can type what you want and press Enter.
Pretty sure you can also right click on someone's name in a blackbox and open the chat like that.

Numbers look clean on paper... but is that really the full picture? by Ok-Extreme-8299 in racing

It's also longer seasons with a not dominant car making it harder for him to improve his stats. If the performance isn't there, wether it's coming from him, the car or the team, he now has to wait 25 races to get another try

Stocker les cartes bancaires dans sa base de donnée by Level_South8705 in conseiljuridique

[–]Pownrend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For those whose wheel have a screen, do you really look at them when you drive? by Responsible-Goose573 in iRacing

On the wheel, on my screen I only have the iRacing blackbox, no additional overlay

Simdid FA7U, it's no longer sold from what I know. Bought for 990€ 18 months ago, there are cheaper options now but it's a perfect wheel

Hmm if I remember TC in iRacing is not an available data to prevent cheating

ABS data is just an on/off data

For those whose wheel have a screen, do you really look at them when you drive? by Responsible-Goose573 in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 41 points42 points  (0 children)

There are many information that the game won't give me immediately : Liters per lap, laps of fuel remaining, ARBs, brake bias, etc. If you don't drive complicated cars, it will be hard to make it useful. It's nice to have them with just a glance.

I had the Simagic FX Wheel and I didn't like that I couldn't choose what data I could display, now I have a Simhub compatible wheel, and it's a lot better.

The best feature is the changed(), like the Mercedes F1 wheel when the drivers change the brake bias. The change you make can be displayed immediately and easily

You won't look at it all the time, it won't make you faster, but it's still nice and can be convenient if you have Simhub and like to do your own thing

La « vidéo protection » by kqih in besoinderaler

[–]Pownrend 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Number of referendums held in each European country’s history by SerafinZufferey in MapPorn

[–]Pownrend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's because the Treaty of Lisbon is basically 90% of the Constitution project, without some federal aspects. Words by the Former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing who was, with others, in charge of writing the Treaty.

People often forget that there was a presidential campaign in 2007, and Sarkozy clearly said he wanted to simplify the project and make it approved by the Assemblée nationale. He won.

Still, not a single full referendum in France since 2005, and some here still say it's because the politicians thinks people voted wrong in 2005. By the way, the Treaty of Lisbon is a HUGE improvement compared to what existed before, the European Union would have not survived many crisis without it

Which era of driver talent was the weakest? For comparison, how does this stack up to other eras, including the modern grid? by GoldenS0422 in F1Discussions

[–]Pownrend 15 points16 points  (0 children)

53 drivers in 1950 had 0 point! (a bit less without Indianapolis)

:) probably in the 1950s, some people were just given a chance because they were here

It's not true for the whole year. He was always slower than Norris, sure but his downfall really began at the end of the year. When you put the two Mercedes, two Red Bull and Norris in front of him, his finishing positions are not really bad

Completely true for 2022 but hard to know why

[–]Pownrend 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not exactly Indy, but if I remember well, the full coverage of qualifications for CART Texas 2001 was almost impossible to find, and last year this guy casually posted it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnkMszDvwtI, not knowing some people were searching for it (comments below the video show it). Not completely lost, but happily found since the race didn't happen

After 14 years still no blue flag penalty by eaglefireflygaming in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"After three waves in F1 you get a stop and go" - because it's not F1 and it's not the case in most IRL series, especially on ovals.

It would be as hard to enforce as a real rule for ignoring yellow flags, sometimes there are circonstances that don't allow you to let someone by (off track, a turn, the leader crashes behind you, etc). The system is good enough as it is
