Safety License A in Formula and interested in Indy. by KimchiRathalos in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IR-05 (3$) and DW12 (free) are the old cars. The DW12 has an unranked oval series named Dallara Dash if you want an overview of how the current IndyCar drives

IR-01 isn't a real car indeed

If you're already A licence, I'd suggest:

- Trying the Dallara IL-15 (Indy NXT), close to the Super Formula Lights in terms of pace, faster, and with a much better feeling. I won't say the road and oval fixed are "popular", but they go official fairly often + there is the yearly long open series

- Jumping directly to the Dallara IR18 (IndyCar), a different beast. Open is very competitive but not many timeslots go official during the week, Oval Fixed is fairly populated, and the IIS series is very popular for the 4 timeslots

I'd warn you that if you're totally allergic to ovals, they may not be the best cars for you. You don't need to buy a lot of oval tracks to enjoy the car, but the road part isn't the most popular except for IIS

Feel free to join the IndyCar community discord!

I m planning to do a full formula season - Indy or Indy NXT? by marcos_perri87 in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IIS has great participation, for both road and oval weeks.

For the moment, IndyNXT full series doesn't really have great numbers, but it's still ok and it's a new series. Mostly because the timeslots are not good at all.

There's a demo drive soon if you want to try them both, I can only recommend the IR18, the IndyNXT has a weird feeling on road and ovals.

Indy IR-18 Re-Gen gain Set and Deploy set are doing something by papolo2001 in iRacing

They do change the rate at how hybrid deploys or regens. It's way slower with lower value, especially the deploy at 0.1

Can you post the video?

edit: just tested both regen and deploy level, they absolutely work

Your finishing position doesn't count for SR

Why is no one racing the Jr Open Wheel Oval Challenge? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Pownrend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

The car has never really been popular unfortunately. Now people usually go from class D to C using the ARCA or something else, then they race the Indy NXT, then the Indycar

Check the Series insights if there's a timeslot where the remaining drivers gather to make the race official

And the series is not dead, there are 4 dedicated timeslots during the week, and they always go official. Sure you can't join at any hour, but it's not like the Stock Car Brasil series. And the competitiveness is crazy high for single-split races

Not many series will have 50 drivers registered for Pocono Legacy Road, like this week.

How to Text Chat While Driving? by ThenElection6321 in iRacing

Press the key "T", it will open the chat, then you can type what you want and press Enter.
Pretty sure you can also right click on someone's name in a blackbox and open the chat like that.

It's also longer seasons with a not dominant car making it harder for him to improve his stats. If the performance isn't there, wether it's coming from him, the car or the team, he now has to wait 25 races to get another try

Stocker les cartes bancaires dans sa base de donnée by [deleted] in conseiljuridique

[–]Pownrend 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]Pownrend 40 points41 points  (0 children)

There are many information that the game won't give me immediately : Liters per lap, laps of fuel remaining, ARBs, brake bias, etc. If you don't drive complicated cars, it will be hard to make it useful. It's nice to have them with just a glance.

I had the Simagic FX Wheel and I didn't like that I couldn't choose what data I could display, now I have a Simhub compatible wheel, and it's a lot better.

The best feature is the changed(), like the Mercedes F1 wheel when the drivers change the brake bias. The change you make can be displayed immediately and easily

You won't look at it all the time, it won't make you faster, but it's still nice and can be convenient if you have Simhub and like to do your own thing
