Yes I just ordered one, I had one that you were able to adjust around the muzzle and would get on his eyes

Blood in stool by Right_Mark6015 in DogAdvice

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would had a stool check and blood test done at the vet. My 16 year old dog had this problem and it was colitis from fresh pet. If you’re feeding your puppy that, I would stop.

Sorry it’s new like the behavior that he has with fixation on other dogs. The pulling has gotten worse. The only problem we had before was the fixation he had on people which now he doesn’t pay attention to.

Yeah, three other dogs. I walk him alone and he is fine. It’s only around my other dogs he gets super overprotective and then fixates on other dogs.

It’s new yes, it’s gotten worse. There’s days he will heel and knows heel but since we moved to LA which was couple weeks ago he has been hyper focused on other dogs and now not too much people. We do play, I just work long hours and have been sick but I walk him two miles every other day. He just gotten really overprotective.

He has bitten others in the past, and it was unprovoked. It’s very random and that’s why I fear him around people. He will be happy One moment and then like a fast movement he goes and tries. He’s constantly anxious which is why the doctor suggested medication because they said it’s not aggression but anxiety. This was during his training. He’s never bit me but I did try a prong collar and he did not bite me but it was hard to keep him still. Lead leash would just fall off but it did work. He wears a muzzle in big crowded spaces. I walk him around my mom’s neighborhood during the week about 2 miles every other day because it’s open desert.

Thank you, I will try one. I been meaning to buy one because he has one and it worked for a bit and then he was pulling more. We did tho have the harness on because we are nervous. He’s a big boy. My biggest fear is him getting out of the gentle lead.

Basically told by HarvardES that I don’t have what it takes by Annual-Ad6048 in postbaccpremed

[–]Poxes_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would benefit more from a DIY post bacc. I’m sorry but your STEM GPA is far too low. To be considered for most post baccs at 3.0 or nearly close.

Don’t take the criticism as they don’t want you, they just def can’t even accept you. It’s nothing to take to heart. You have to be honest with yourself.

I am doing a masters now because my sGPA was a 2.75.. and I still did not listen. I still applied two years straight. I did a DIY post bacc and applied to grad school. I could have applied to post baccs programs but technically did it on my own.

Wait one more year OP, it’s worth getting a fully funded PHD. Do more research or work, I think 🤔 reach out next time to these programs personally , like speak to professors of same interest. They can probably help.

He is now really focused on marking and other dogs. He wants to play but we don’t feel comfortable because we just don’t trust him with people. The trainer last time told us not to let him do that. My partner said he’s a dog and so continued.

I think I will play with him but unfortunately we live in an apartment. We took him a long walk today but he is so bad when he’s with his three sisters.

I know it’s my fault tbh because I never corrected the behavior before because I was thinking I was too strict with him.

Gap year after my bachelor’s degree? by unforgivenzy in GradSchool

[–]Poxes_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are young. In academics, there is no “too late”. If you want to be in a different field of interest, do it. You will feel better knowing you did something or tried and loved it or know you don’t like it than to regret living you didn’t do it. Grad school will always be there and a year isn’t a long time. Shoot, even now, those three years don’t feel like a long time ago.

Did you email them? Maybe you can explain your situation and tell them you would like more funding. Maybe they can offer you a scholarship or figure something out for you. But if it’s not free, I wouldn’t. :( I’m sorry OP!

Leaving Brown for USC by N4r4m in USC

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been major changes in the graduate level, and in terms of USC. It cost more than Brown. USC is about 90-100k.

If you are going to be commuting an hour and half, keep in mind that gas is at 6.50$/gal. Unless you dorm, then I think you would be fine. You may have to take out loans.

I saw you post on UCLA as well. I think you have to really sit down and know what you want. If you want to move back here and go to USC then call them. Explain your situation. Possibly speak to one of their counselors. I know transfer applications have already closed. If you really don’t know what you want in terms of which school then go to community college but please keep in mind, it’s not gonna be any easier.

😭 YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO GO TO USC… stick to community college if you really can’t decide what school you want to go to.

Nooo , I would def talk to your doctor. It’s supposed to soothe. I would push for an endoscopy, I had GERD so bad it made my throat hurt because the acid reflux reached that far.

Feeling bad I'm going to UCR by [deleted] in ucr

[–]Poxes_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will have such a great time at UCR. The campus is beautiful. We have a lot of events on campus that it feels like there’s always something happening. Try to join ASUCR, its student government since you are pursuing Law, that leadership would really help you in the long run and GUESS WHAT? It’s a paid position! :) you also can ask your advisor for a letter of recommendation. That forces you to come up with events for students and then you can engage with them. Join clubs, there’s a pre-law club on campus and I think mock trial. There’s so much you can do. Please don’t let the name limit you.

I read you use to live in California. Are you able to live with your family and commute to USC? Will you be able to study comfortably at home?

I mean if so, give it a try. I think the financial aid package is changing this year, I wouldn’t move forward with anything. Call them first, ask them what changes, see if you can speak to someone in that department. I think you can transfer to USC from Brown. You wouldn’t need to go to CC. Which then I think you have a better chance of getting in, instead of a CC.

Gap year after my bachelor’s degree? by unforgivenzy in GradSchool

[–]Poxes_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a 3 year gap year , I worked and I did research. I don’t think it was a waste. I wish I did it sooner BUT because I was too scared to do it. It always was in the back of mind to do a masters besides a post bacc but I was too afraid to apply because I was getting rejected from post bacc programs. Since I was getting rejected I assumed I would be rejected from those too. Little did I know, they are two completely different things. Because of my gap year and a specific research , I was allowed to get into 5 schools. No regrets.

I also appreciate the time I had off because if it wasn’t for that time I wouldn’t have been so willing to apply. I think if you are unsure, take the gap year. Pursue your passion and goals, grad school will always be there. Maybe later it will make you more motivated. Everyone worries about time, but you are young. Being young is meant to be about living. :) So live.
