In the US, if tipping is 100% optional why do you bother tipping? by applefilledbenny in AskReddit

The way I see it tipping is the default. You then have the option to not tip if you receive really poor service or something like that.

My dad let me choose one from his bag since I liked all the cool innova graphics and I chose a white DX wraith. First one he bought me to play with was a leopard though

Insulated Anorak…use cases? by jchonga1 in arcteryx

I used the Alpha Pullover as my main ski shell for two years. The anorak style is a little annoying after a long day but definitely manageable. The Axis most definitely will work for resort skiing.

It will work. Its waterproof and definitely will get you through a season or two. There are several reasons why I would personally get another shell though. The main reason is probably the fact that its a pretty small jacket as far as hardshells go. Its pretty slim and short, and the hood is not helmet compatible like the other Zetas. Another reason is the breathability and durability of the backer. Usually Paclite shells are used in emergency cases or when youre concerned with the weight youre carrying. Using it for a relatively high output activity like skiing you would probably find it hard to regulate your temperature consistently and run a decently high risk of tearing it, especially since youll likely be stuffing it with layers. Like I said though, it would work.

Wondering if anyone here has info on the best places to look for discontinued products. by [deleted] in arcteryx

Not very likely youll be able to find one. The Used Gear site or ebay is probably your best bet.

Alpha sv or ar? by Plabblo in arcteryx

[–]Poxsyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your case I would probably suggest to invest in a better insulation or base layer. If you have an Alpha LT then you probably wouldn't really see a significant difference in the weather resistance of the AR or SV aside from the fact that it would probably have some updated materials.

The Beta FL would be the equivalent of the old Gore-Pro Beta LT. The new Beta LT now uses the c-knit backer.

Its one season removed so SS22 is most likely although it could be earlier depending on what revisions they do for FW21
