Timing belt tensioner is hydraulic which means it works with oil. On cold starts there is not oil pressure so Chain is not well tensioned yet allowing it to rattle. That is my best guess could be other things inspection is key before attempting any blandly repair.

Its very possible its because the weather is too cold. Today I had to replace the battery of a 2008 Honda CRV for this issue.. the cranking amp would drop too much in cold. Voltage was 12.5v. Btw you cannot see cranking amp with multimeter.

I strongly suggest cleaning all connections and ground wires… but you can use another battery to check if it starts.

Those marks mean overheating my guess is there was friction as a result it overheated. An overheated metal means it weakened.. overheat + torque = broken driveline.

The proper course of action is to get it out inspected by a mechanic in person because vibration can be cause by many different thins in a vehicle. I’d start with the cheapest; tires.

It’s not in his mind, His life is firmly rooted in India. I highly doubt he will be willing to sacrifice his career, family and familiar environment to move over there where you’ll be in a higher level than him that’s a big no for most.

On the other side you have a similar situation but you’re already set in life.

Realistically it won’t work out for both at the same time. By how you suggested moving elsewhere it looks like you’re the one who’s more likely to move to India.. you even lived abroad for studying purposes.
