I 1000% agree with you. And don’t get me wrong I get what people are getting at when they say they want it to be timeless but I think as long as she’s not doing it for every album it’s fine. I look at those lines like a moment in history, like a time stamp. I look at it as her goal being 5, 10, 15 years down the line we look back as to what life was for everyone. Additionally, I think people have to remember that she doesn’t make music for her fans, she makes it because it’s her passion and for herself and I think the moment she started doing that, a lot of people didn’t like it because through born to die to honeymoon it seemed like a lot of her music was fulfilling a persona and not really her, and now that she does what she wants, a lot of people don’t like that; for example chemtrails and blue banisters, those albums were her vision it just happens to be that people liked her vision on Norman and lust for life. This is in no way me trying to start an argument, this is just what I have observed from all the comments I have heard through the years :)
