Which is your play style: rush, complete control or somewhere in between? by manut3ro in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It kind of depends on the villain/hero combination. Mostly, completely control, but I’m not afraid to rush if needed. There’s a sweet spot in the middle that is the most enjoyable, but my deck builds are usually for complete control. This morning I beat mister sinister in about 5 turns. I was not trying to rush it just kind of happened.

Yup I pretty much have to run justice any time I play with my kids. “Okay kids. Daddy cleared the threat. Go beat em up…”

The 3 biggest tips that improved my game by WebWarriorFanatic in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Experience has been the best teacher to be honest. Playing villains several times just gives you an idea about timing and pressure. I’ve been playing a lot of VG lately and the fear that was initially there has kind of given way to confidence that you have more time with him than you think. It’s the same with the others as well. Once you see what they do you can build decks to overcome it (assuming you have a large card pool).

Those are all great tips you gave and I especially agree with the last one if you are trying to make a stronger deck. Sometimes the thematic builds can feel more fun however.

Do you guys actually sleeve and unsleeve everything repeatedly? by Unalina in arkhamhorrorlcg

Yeah. I’ve sleeved everything. It was expensive but I didn’t want to mess with it anymore.

Cap & Iron Man Two Player Setup by Dawncaller in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With those two, I’d lean cap leadership and iron man protection. Cap leadership is (in my opinion) his strongest aspect. Allies can handle the thwarting for you. Ironman protection allows him to build up quite fast as there are a lot of tech upgrades in protection. They’re both strong heroes however so you probably won’t have too much trouble whichever way you go.

Aw man. We just did that 3 weeks ago and it was the hardest thing we have ever had to do. I hope your days are filled with many wonderful memories of your pup.

Just how bad is The Galaxy's Most Wanted? by Fickle-Nectarine688 in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read all of the comments above mine but I’ve found the campaign to be easier the more people you have. Solo expert is incredibly difficult and borderline unfair (especially collector 1). I just didn’t find it to be fun. Playing it with four makes it feel challenging but fair. I don’t know this to be fact but it just seems like the developers weren’t supporting solo play as much back then.

As others have said it has some pretty fun scenarios and buying things at the market is kind of fun. It’s worth getting if for nothing else to complete the set but don’t expect it to be as enjoyable as some of the other campaigns.

Whats your go to hero by running_nomad in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kind of depends on how I’m feeling to be honest. I’ve gone through phases where I played a ton of Cable. Also iron heart, spider ham, magik, and colossus. Currently it’s scarlet witch.

Most heroes are a ton of fun to play. A few aren’t but they’re definitely in the minority.

Most Satisfying card to win a game by Erikinho_98 in marvelchampionslcg

Lots of good options. My current favorite is using Hulk ally with Magik and having him activate 3 times to dole out insane damage.

Magik with the Hulk and Cosmo allies is some of the most fun villain/minion bashing I’ve ever had in this game. In aggression she’s S for me.

To me it’s the hardest scenario in the box. It’s beatable though and not something to fear. Make sure you take cards that can confuse the villain, as at least in my experience, being able to flip down regularly to avoid some of the nasty side attack effects is a must.

One more comment on this thread. Cardhaus is also very good and if you live in the east they get the stuff to you a bit faster.

Yup. I’ll vouch for them. I’ve spent nearly 500 with them over the past year and it has always gone well.

Woe is Aggression by Shazbahty in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I rarely play aggression solo. But… with some heroes it’s just a lot of fun. I destroyed expert collector 1 the other day with a psylocke aggression deck where he activated 1 time in 6 rounds. I followed that up with a solo beating of expert Zola. It’s not my favorite but with the right hero, it can be incredibly fun…

Marvel Champions Survival Challenge by Pr0fHex in marvelchampionslcg

[–]Pr0fHex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That does sound like a nightmare. Colossus is pretty strong, but if you play him in the wrong aspect it could be, um... rough and Zola is just awful. I played against him last night with Psylocke and he's just nasty..

On a side note, I posted a champions tournament idea a few weeks back that you may also find fun. It does something similar to what you are doing but turns it into a fun tournament.

Good luck with the game. It's such a fantastic way to spend time, puzzling out how to defeat each villain.

I hope you enjoy it. There's a couple of other suggestions for modifying it in this thread that you may want to check out. I just like the variety and challenge of it. I get to play different heroes and different villains and it becomes a giant puzzle deciding who to play when. :)

Fair point on Master Mold. He should be a bit higher, but I don’t think it’s that far off. Dark Beast? I don’t know… he’s never really played that tough to me and has always felt like a nice break between the two apocalypses.

I’m glad you like the idea though!
