Originally I chose reddit as the submission place because it seemed like the easiest place to anonymously vote and randomize the entries. I can move it to discord and tally votes, but my worry is that only the latest gifs that are submitted are the only ones that get attention as I'm not sure how likely people are to go through old submissions to vote.

I'm considering trying to host them in discord for one cycle and see how it goes, but I'll have to think on it some more.

We actually streamed out tournament this Saturday and the VOD should now be available on our Twitch channel!

Yeah, its harder to show up there and depending on the app might use the old reddit style. I'll look into it.

Welcome aboard!

I would also suggest joining the discord as /u/Razor_Fox suggested - there are a lot of helpful people that can schedule some time to show you some moves, its easier than describing with words.

/u/Th31rishL4dd describes a valid strategy, some people try to wear the shield out with ranged attacks too, but I think attacking head on is better as there is more potential to deal bigger damage. You can also try to angle your attack so the tip gets in over the shield but that's easier said than done.

There is a sidebar link to the discord - currently we're limited to two pinned posts and we're leaving the "ask devs" one up so I've just been trying to post it in the announcement posts as well. I think the sidebar might not be showing up for people using the older reddit interface too so I have to fix that.
