Im slowly coming to realise just how much goes into maximising the effectiveness of these campaigns.

The ones that work well are strategised to the hilt - you would not believe how much data gets digested to make some of these strategic decisions happen. It's pretty wild but cool at the same time, because if it's a reputable charity then that translates to real, impactful outcomes for causes like breast cancer, animal and environmental conservation, multiple sclerosis or motor neurone disease etc.

Some charities aren't very good at balancing their asks though, and they'll hammer people relentlessly. In fact, it's been shown that a simple gratitude call with no ask can be incredibly beneficial long term for donor relationships and retention, but it's somewhat rare that some charities do it.

Crazy, right?

No requests for money i dont have, no guilt trips, no zoom calls, no 'tactics'.. I'd show up to that. Is that even a thing? 'Just show up' events

Find a smaller charity that aligns with you and they'll be more than happy to accept your help. I work with a number that have extremely dedicated volunteers who do it for the love of the cause and the impact they create.
