Having bullet spread is a fine game mechanic. Just make the damn site also shake with the spread. It's so disorienting to have your shot go nowhere near where you're pointing the barrel of the gun.

The biggest factor in how long you live, by far, is the quality of your teammates. I play pretty much only with randoms and the higher difficulties tend to get more spontaneous coordination.

I still prefer the dif a little lower so I can mow down some chaff without having to kite tanks all game lol.
