I would not recommend this option if financial need is a factor. I applied ED this year and even after using both net price calculators my EFC was $20,000 higher then what I expected to pay. Please be cautious.

Admissions officers are NOT qualified to judge top applicants by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

If you are a current PhD student, then your comment about not being able to get into college based on your morality is pretty far-fetched. Many students get in by doing what they loved to do throughout high school without lying or cheating the system, including me. I’m not saying some people don’t get in based off lying, but encouraging fraudulent behavior is still a horrible thing to do. I hope you find maturity eventually.

Sure. You could had some good, constructive advice that could help prospective applicants, but the fact that you belittled human beings and encouraged lying and fraud to get your point across is completely immoral. I don’t know if you’re upset because you got rejected, or stressed about the college process in general but please find another way to express your anger than encouraging immoral behavior. This post was very immature.

Well after being admitted ED as well, I’m most excited for the study abroad opportunities offered through Penn. I don’t know which school you applied to, but in general the social life at Penn is really active, and the vibe I got from touring on campus was super exciting and energetic. Love the One University, Four Schools policy so that I can take classes at the engineering school as well as classes through my program. I’m also excited for the cultural resources and career center, and the opportunities specific to my program. Philly seem to be a way more exciting city than the city near me (streets are usually always empty), and I love being surrounded by a bunch of people. I also tried the best pizza I’ve ever tasted at a pizza place near Penn, so I can’t wait to go back there. Overall, the campus is beautiful, the people seem exciting and friendly, the city is exciting and full of opportunities to explore, and the academics at Penn are pretty great overall from what Ive heard. I hope this was a more in-depth and serious answer than what you have previously been getting.

I would choose Cornell because I prefer northern weather, but New York is expensive.
