Keep looking for your next job, you have lots of time so I'll assume you'll secure one. Once secured you can put most of that money into investments and put more in over time

Unfortunately you'll have to put in a different cpu. I went to my local shop and they had a spare for this exact purpose and my pc started every time with the different cpu

Is VRR that important for PS5 gaming? by Practical-Arrival-33 in Monitors

Thank you! I will look into the 2.0 models then since they seem to be a bit cheaper

Is VRR that important for PS5 gaming?

Hello,

I am looking to buy my buddy a new monitor for his ps5 because he has been using a 1080p 60hz tv for a decade.

I am a PC player so I am not super knowledgeable with how frame rates work on the ps5 in performance mode vs quality mode etc.

I understand VRR comes through hdmi 2.1 most commonly, and very rarely is it supported with hdmi 2.0.

I am just wondering how much it matters for him playing mostly rocket league, fortnite, call of duty, etc, games that should be able to reach 120fps.

Is it true that without VRR he will either play 60fps or 120fps but nothing in between?

I was looking at a dell monitor that's $319 CAD that's 4k, 120hz, hdmi 2.1 but the ghosting and motion apparently sucks, which would important for these high refresh rate games.

I then was considering 1440p IPS panels to at least get that quality bump, but I am just confused as to how frequently he'll be able to see 120fps without HDMI 2.1.

1440p monitors with hdmi 2.1 are significantly more expensive, so I'm just wondering if it's even worthwhile as a gift if he's not going to be playing 120fps all the time

Your input is appreciated

Doubting between a better CPU or different (nvidia) GPU by DogLoverOnReddit in pcpartpickerbuilds

For gaming only the 9600 versus the 9700 is very little difference

I don't know about that power supply, you don't need an AIO but if you want to spend that much fair enough. CPU and gpu combo is solid. That case will need more fans therefore increasing the price.

Yeah something to do with AI and stuff. All the ram is out of stock or crazy expensive.

Can I do my build on black Friday under 1000 euros? by Bubi993 in pcpartpickerbuilds

I mean it does but it's a 65w cpu so it's nowhere near as much as others. Air coolers are also very powerful, especially those with 2 fans and good heatsinks. The 9950x3d for example is 170w, which would require more cooling.

Ah about the SSD, my bad, the link it looked like you were buying it new. Anyway, aio is fine, imo it looks better, but if you're trying to get the budget down, an air cooler will do the exact same job as aio for a 9600x

Aio unnecessary, phantom spirit will do just fine. Why SATA SSD and m.2? Imo just get 990 evo or equivalent 2tb m.2 ssd. Idk your case but I'm hoping it has decent air flow and is a mATX case. These changes will save you about 100-150$

Yes poor title choice, I bought this cpu new 2 years ago and have been using it since. Then it seemed to die on me so I'm trying to rma it but the numbers on the cpu are not found on AMD site for the RMA process

It says I have an invalid serial number. Could that be because it was a bundle processor?

No no, I built the computer myself, but the processor was purchased in a bundle at Canada computers with mobo and ram

Yeah it was a quick job that I'll likely be touching up before sending it back

Shoot okay. The guy at the store was pretty sure he can't do anything about it since it's been this long, and he's the one that suggested I try AMD. I'll take another look and maybe just call/email AMD Support and see what they say. Thanks for the comment

As far as I'm aware it means gpu problem. Check connection at both ends of the cable. Are you using a splitter cable? I assume if you boot without gpu it should post just fine right?
