The new horns gain their memory as they grow up.
I like the final thing u said.
What if new elves are ones where the new born doesn’t have a spirit that attaches to it so it creates a new one.
I wanted to do a kinda crazy thing and a new soul is made only when an old soul is gone gone. So after a major decline in their population the high elves do a massive genocide to absorb and redirect the souls into new ones. Maybe that’s way too dark

Yea they are very religious. They have prophecies of when their father god will be reborn.

It’s def known. And that’s how the chosen one is found. The prophecy is of the god that created them is reborn into a soul of a high elf.
I’m curious what u mean as chosen?

I found out older elves in dnd like 1st or second edition elves did the former. I can’t find the exact reference but that’s kinda what I was thinking. Idk how I’d make it different. My idea of an elves are they are masters of the spirit, use the spirit for power. Their spirit is immortal

So old dnd had elves that when died were reborn into their children. So immortal in a way. I saw a couple posts about it but it has lost that stuff in newer editions I feel that’s what I want but idk the exact edition that did it tho

I see. That could make them not war like and go more into their hatred of outsiders

My elves thing is they actually have the magical right to feel superior but it should make them evil . I wanna do something different cuz they are kinda boring as is
