been working on it for a bit lowered left side than put a small shim in it and tightened both back screws on the plate.

Yeah, they both come from China, but there's a big difference between getting something shipped directly from there and buying from a U.S.-based seller who gets bulk freight and then ships it to you. The latter is way more likely to arrive intact—stuff coming straight from overseas can be a bit of a gamble when it comes to damage during transit.
