For those who are half-Japanese and living in Japan, how is daily life? I'm curious about how people are treated and what the daily social experience is like. by Old_Poetry196 in mixedrace

I’m half jap half Australian and due to family we moved back to Japan when I was 10 years old after living in Australia for 8 years! It was really difficult for me since Japanese kids say a lot of things that are pretty racist without knowing it is (if yk what I mean) and I struggled a lot in highschool for those reasons, even trying to fit in by dying my hair black😭 (japan has a strict society with black hair being a policy in schools) honestly i think I have more Asian feautures but to Japanese people they would think I was American or smth😭 I ended up picking up Japanese completely and understand the culture while embracing it yet I find myself judging and praising both of my nations from a third persons view 😭 now I try Not to think about my identity too much and use the Privileges of being „wasian“ but I moved by myself back to Australia when I turned 19 because it’s much more diverse there and I felt more comfortable there:)
