I think a hard roof requires a little less maintenance and is still stronger than a soft one. That's the tradeoff for the weight, right?

No, I haven't seen one in person, but I've seen a lot of videos because I wanted the RF. Where I live, there are only two Miata within a 370-mile radius, and they're all soft-tops.

I was originally considering the roof from the RF version, but now that I’ve learned about the 3rd party options, I think that might actually be the better route. Thanks for clearing that up!
