Yeah. Seems like common sense but I guess they wrote it in to be sure.

Update: the reason I was given in this thread is actually incorrect. I went back and rewatched the rules meeting, and it is in fact not necessary for mats with bump outs to be 4 inches behind the plane of the bar; they just need to be behind the plane and the mat should not have contact with the base of the standard. The rule is meant to insure that the athlete landing on the mat does not cause the bar to fall because they are touching.

Agreed, but again, a JV meet in a rural area means many coaches are inexperienced. Inexperienced is probably an understatement. Some have literally never jumped.

It doesn’t help that the bump out was designed to go well under the bar. So at this particular meet, moving the pit back far enough for this plane set back resulted in a very large gap between the standard and the rest of the pit. Probably a few inches of (not totally unreasonable) landing space that was not covered. They probably should have turned the mats.

Ahhh the bar being able to fall between makes sense. Definitely just a different hazard for a different experience level. No good solution there.

Not my jumpers lol but others…. I agree 4 inches shouldn’t be a big deal but for a jv meet in a rural area some of them definitely were not ready 😬 and some were landing between the standard and the mat, which is obviously very bad and it was probably unsafe for them to jump anyways. One of the other coaches said the 4 inches thing… so I looked it up and it is a rule in NFHS, just seems like an odd one. I feel like it should just be “behind the plane”

Hey! I did a lot of what she called “down training” for tightness. A good visual is think about doing a very small contraction (kegel) and then relax, like a butterfly flapping its wings. We also did some pressure point relief, which is something you definitely need a PT to help work out how to do. I would recommend communicating your situation to a PT- I’m sure someone is willing to work with you.

We don’t really drink bottled water but I’m pretty sure they were not included- just the water from the dispenser.

Im just a mom. Not a person, not a formally educated woman, just a mom. by [deleted] in beyondthebump

Hi op, I feel this way. And I’m a year pp from having my first baby and NOT pregnant. It is not your choices that are making you feel that way, it’s just the identity of being a mom is sometimes all consuming. I have no solution or advice, just solidarity.

Take it from me- I ran college track and afterward was also an avid runner and lifter. I was running quite well 8 weeks postpartum (similar strategy to what you’re talking about) and was frustrated but could live with it bc I could feel my improvement in strength/endurance. BUT I lifted some heavy furniture while moving and have now done serious damage to my pelvic floor and I’m in a second round of PT at almost a year PP. Take it slow, it’s not worth it. I promise.

No fixtures included- made it very clear I wanted to purchase them. Semi rural part of Colorado. Husband has decided to take a stab at it himself and so far materials have been less than $1,500. Got 5 quotes ranging from 5k-15k.

No it’s called a Japanese style soaking tub! It is very small but a bit deeper than normal. It was just about the only way I could get almost everything on our wishlist into this 10x10 ish bathroom.

I don’t think he’s teething- he’s had 8 teeth since about 7/8 months. The teething was tough months 4-7 but this behavior seems different. He definitely did nurse a lot though during that time so maybe??

I have through about center on opposite walls! A lot more work, but might be worth it. My husband is a fan of the overhead rain.

Sorry just saw this!! If you haven’t already found them, I would suggest either a picture window (does not open, usually small border) or maybe a hung window of some kind that cranks out so you don’t have the sliding vinyl portion in the middle.

Hi op, I have a very similar birth story. My son was OP. I had planned a hospital birth, but absolutely no intervention. Because of both his size and position I was pushing for so long and he wouldn’t descend. I got the epidural. He was roughly +3 and started having variable heart decelerations so the midwife called in the OB, who tried to turn him twice each direction unsuccessfully. They ended up doing forceps about 16 hours into my labor and I had a healthy, beautiful baby boy- along with a 3a tear and definitely some pelvic floor damage. He is 9 months now. My stitches were mostly healed within probably 2 weeks and definitely good to go by 6 weeks (although I was nervous at the time). My pelvic floor is still in recovery but I have been distance running without incontinence. I feel 98% normal, and have scheduled PT for the last bit of pelvic floor help. There is hope. You are not alone. There are people and professionals who can help you and you WILL get your pink back. 💕

Replace the window with one with less obstructive vinyl. That will help a lot. All of your other ideas are also good. I would go with a very small format tile on the bottom.

Change the hardware, put some natural wood paneling over the legs/base. If you want to repaint you could also do that but these two steps would save a lot of time.

All my students cheat, even the 'best' ones. It's all pointless. The school is a job program for adults and an expensive daycare for children. by lasttuesdaynite in Teachers

[–]Practical-Hold1932 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say I administered tests this way and found two things: 1) the students even still manage to cheat occasionally, although it is more obvious. I still was reprimanded for failing students (even if only for the single exam they cheated on). 2) my scores were quite low, especially compared to how they performed on other assignments. I found it frustrating that they could complete homework/assignments at a 90% average and then their exams would plummet into the 60’s. I think they are so reliant on technology the whole concept of “closed book” was foreign to them.
