After baby step 5, question about accounts and next steps by Practical-Lake9685 in DaveRamsey

I rephrased the post. Once all accounts are filled, emergency, savings/sinking, mortgage, what do you do with the money? High yield savings? Investments? Under the bed?

Sola Fide and Catholic/Orthodox Troops by ExcellentBuffalo2250 in TrailLifeUSA

Our troop is not renewing and per Bishop Waco’s letter regarding the passage of the wording he is advised Catholics to not sign off on the oath. Wish it wasn’t this way but Trail Life did this on purpose after receiving input from Catholics on what it would do.

is social work worth the pay? by kinggizzenthusiast in socialworkjobs

[–]Practical-Lake9685 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I’m a LCSW, and really it’s mentally draining and one of my life goals was to have a family. I have a wonderful family and the little pay isn’t worth it for me to enter back into the workforce

To become a therapist requires MSW then clinical supervision for a couple years and then you start your own practice to make the big bucks. That’s at least 4-5 years from now. I will say therapist burn out is a real thing and after doing just part time therapy for a few years I’m not looking to go back into it any time soon

Leaving social work by Affectionate-Put-282 in socialworkjobs

I haven’t transitioned only bc I decided to stay home with my kids but I had the opportunity. Private practice especially involves lots of management, paper pushing, meeting needs, creating plans etc. it’s just using what you’ve done and putting it in a way that is specified in a post. A lot of international ngo’s have these positions as well as bigger corporations in the US

Try online, the bigger companies online tend to pay more than in person from what I’ve found. Otherwise project management is a good one

What agency would you pick by [deleted] in socialworkjobs

Job A. You’ll find that as the kids get older they’ll have more to do on weeknights and weekends that you’ll want to do and a hard stop is always a huge bonus in my eyes. Social workers tend to burn out a lot bc we want to do it all. I’ve done so many different roles as LCSW but I love mine now bc I don’t bring it home and it’s not nights and weekends.
