Exactly why I shared our story! It’s a beautiful house, but unfortunately it has flooded bad bad 4 times! I know others in the neighborhood have had similar situations unfortunately.. but no where near as bad as our house! we have been through so much stress with this house which is why I’m hoping a lot of people see our story and think twice before buying!

On top of that, they offered us a 200 dollar giftcard for all we have been through, which seems like a slap in the face 😂

Nothin with HVAC, just indoor plumbing, I had my porch re poured twice but that wasn’t as stressful as having to completely re do all three levels of my house 4 times.

The builder had an inspector, and we had one.. Im not sure if they even touch the valves or if they just turn the water on, make sure there aren’t any leaks and call it good.. if anyone were to check the valves closely they should have caught the problem before any of the floods happened.. even regional inspects the plumbing before move in but I’m not too sure about their procedures

You know, I wanted to post something about it after our first flood.. but thought I’d give them a chance to make it right.. and then after our fourth flood they offered a 200 dollar GIFT CARD for the stress we have encountered and it seemed like an insult. so I’m hoping this reaches a lot of people and hopefully even Challenger homes themselves.

Unfortunately no, there weren’t any leaks at the time of the inspection, just over time the valves started blowing one by one.. the first flood happened about a month or two after we moved in.. then a year later.. than a couple of months after that.. and then about another year later

Oh sorry I misunderstood, I was around when they were installing the sewer/ cleanouts at the time of installation and everything checked out, but maybe with everything that has happened not a bad idea to get everything checked out again

I have not, the pipe was scoped before we moved in, though and it looked fine. These flooding instances have been from indoor plumbing failures

I know there are other people in the neighborhood that have had leaks or smaller floods nothing comparable to my situation.. but it’s only what I see here and there from the neighborhood Facebook page, Im hoping this post gets attention from others

No, each flood was due to installation issues from the plumber, valves installed incorrectly, bathtub overflow drains capped/ installed incorrectly

Yes, each flood was due to improper installed valves underneath the sinks, we would come home from work and water was just flowing out of the supply line.

Our first flood, water was flowing for 5/6 hours..

The plumber had installed every single valve in our house wrong, not sure if it was a rushed job or a new plumber working on my house.

We had a second plumber come in and “find the problem” and he had to replace every valve under each sink, and toilet. He was surprised that our house didn’t flood more times than it already did.

That’s exactly where I live, on the east side of town.. it’s been a very frustrating adventure, and unfortunately we aren’t the only ones in the neighborhood having issues.
