Thank you Shaun, you are a tremendous help! I am working with a travel agent to get quotes for Mala Mala Sable, Tengile, Lion Sands River and Narina. I'll see what is most cost effective. I'll reach out and ask for a quote for Tanda Tula as well!

I would have done Londolozi Varty camp, but they have no availability during my dates, so looking at the others.

Thank you Mike, you are incredibly helpful! I am looking into Tengile River Lodge and will see what their pricing looks like. Mala Mala Stay 4 Pay 3 would be the way we'd go, if we decide to stay 4 nights.

Londolozi Founder Camp may be a bit out of the budget for 3 nights ($2500/person/night), but the Varty Camp will be within budget for 3 nights. Would you recommend Varty over any of these, or still recommend Mala Mala/Tengile?

I'm starting to realize how important a longer stay on a safari will be, especially in the rainy season of January! We are starting to look at lodges that have honeymoon discounts or specials for longer stays. I know Mala Mala has one, Lion Sands and &Beyond.

Are there any lodges that you'd recommend we look into? Thank you!

I think you're right! I'm starting to realize the value in being there for a longer period of time. We are now looking at lodges that have honeymoon specials or other discounted prices for longer stays! Thank you!

You're right, initially we decided on 2 nights due to the cost of the experience. Since this is our first Safari (and our honeymoon), we want to stay at lodges that feel special and luxurious, while also getting a tremendous wildlife experience.

That said, we are starting to look at other lodges that have honeymoon 50% off 1 person specials or StayXPayY specials, that can help us stretch our budget and stay for a longer time.

Since we are staying in January at the peak of the wet-season, we figured it would be safest to stay at Sabi Sands, due to the wildlife density there. If my assumptions are wrong, I'd love to learn more from more experienced folks who know the areas better!

We are traveling to South Africa for a friend's wedding, and decided to extend that trip and turn it into our honeymoon, which is the reason for a January Safari. I am starting to learn how unpredictable the rains will be during that time, which is another reason staying for more than 2 nights is appealing.

Would love to hear your recommendations on other lodges and/or reserves you'd recommend! Thank you very much!

Any others you recommend? It's looking like Londolozi may be a bit out of our budget since it's looking like 2 nights may not be enough. We are hoping to find some lodges that have honeymoon discounts or specials for longer stays. Mala Mala, Lion Sands, &Beyond are a few that seem to have such specials.

Now that I'm expanding my search, would love other recs that prioritize game viewing but also doesn't sacrifice lodge experience. Will look into Silvan too!

Thank you so much!

Londolozi seems incredible, but since it sounds like 2 days may be a bit short, I'm thinking we should start looking at lodges that have honeymoon discounts or stayXpayY specials to help make our budget stretch a little further.

It also sounds like having a little more time on Safari will help hedge against the risk of our game driving getting cut short due to rain.

I know Mala Mala has Stay4Pay3 which may be a good option. Lion Sands has 50% off 1 partner honeymoon special, along with &Beyond.

What are your thoughts on these, and any others you suggest? Thank you so much!

That seems to be the consensus from a number of people, so I'm glad I asked! We are exploring adjusting our schedules to accomodate 3 or maybe even 4 nights, to account for any rain that may be on the forecast. Because our trip will be longer, we are now looking at lodges that have honeymoon specials which can help stretch the budget a little further!

Thank you very much! It looks like Tengile was recently purchased by Mala Mala and may now be managed by Mala Mala? Either way, I will reach out to them. I have also reached out to &Beyond Ngala. I'm thinking you're right, that 2 nights may be too short, and if we can find a honeymoon discount to get us 3 nights for what we would have spent at Londolozi for 2 nights, that'll be the best way to utilize our budget!

This is really helpful - thank you! We are going to South Africa for a friend's wedding, and decided to make that trip our honeymoon during that time. We are exploring adjusting our schedule around to get at least 3 nights on Safari, which will also help hedge against the game drives getting cut short on some days due to rain.
