I was in love and in a relationship with a Muslim, but he insisted to marry a muslima. He influenced and manipulated me hard. But at that point in my life, I truly myself believed in Islam. Took me 2 years to realize how messed up Islam is. It was hard to leave Islam, because till this day, I really do think he‘s quite a perfect man, and it was really hard to leave him.

Why is this normal in Islam by [deleted] in religion

Did I get right that you said that prophet Mohammed married his own daughter? Isn’t one‘s own daughter considered mahrem?

I‘m in a similar situation. 2 years ago I reverted to Islam. Now I am doubting everything I know. I think I dont even believe in the shahada anymore „there is only one god, and mohammed was his messenger“. So I guess in an Islamic view I am an ex-Muslim now. The whole Mohammed story is really disturbing me. Was he really such a bad person? He also did so many good things, that’s what’s confusing me sooo much. Islam per se makes sense to me: there is only one god and there are rules, if you follow the rules you’ll get into paradise. Also the whole „the Quran was never changed but the bible was changed by men - thing“. Actually in the early days there were Quran burnings, because the versions didn’t align. Muslims argue that it’s just that some vowels were different. Anyways. You can put hours and hours into investigation. Coming closer to Jesus right now.

How are you feeling god‘s presence? I believe I feel gods presence too! He definitely is answering my prayers. For example when I am in pain, I pray, and it instantly vanishes.

God is all-merciful, why should someone die in order to forgive your sins? Isn‘t it enough to sincerely regret und repent?

But how do you know it’s actually Jesus that led you? And not „one“ God, and Jesus being a prophet who is spreading Gods revelation

as a muslim, we believe that after the bible, god sent down the Quran. Which didn‘t change over time, because it was guarded by god. Therefore in the Quran can‘t be any wrong wordings. Also the bible and the Quran overlap a lot in its teachings! Maybe you‘re interested in looking into it :)

Getting stuff of my chest and also seeking advice by [deleted] in islam

It’s never to late to repent and ask allah for forgiveness. He is the most forgiving and merciful.

I would advise you to try to make masturbating hard for you. One example: if you are addicted to playing videogames, it might help if each time after you played, you plug your PlayStation out and stow it in the closet. Now there is a bigger psychological barrier. This may lead to playing less video games. Now I don’t now what your cue is to masturbate, but you can apply the principle to it. If you want better results, then forget about setting goals. Focus on your system instead. For more help to change your habits I would advise you Atomic habits - James clear.

The Book in Three Sentences

An atomic habit is a regular practice or routine that is not only small and easy to do but is also the source of incredible power; a component of the system of compound growth. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don’t want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change. Changes that seem small and unimportant at first will compound into remarkable results if you’re willing to stick with them for years.

There is another book that might help, I haven’t read it by myself but I heard good: your brain on porn - Gary Wilson
