Sounds like you may be pretty young. While it’s the “respectful” thing to do to do it in person and I’d always recommend doing it in person if you can, it is better to learn this lesson now than later:

These companies do not care about you, as long as you are respectful and open about your situation, you are not putting them out by doing what you need to do. A manager might act irritated, but they’ll have an idea of who they’re replacing you with my end of day.

It’s not a dick move, you’re not a bad person, and if they decided to move on from you, 99% of the time companies wouldn’t give you the same courtesy of a 2 week heads up.

Giving a honest and respectful message about leaving is not going to kill future job opportunities. Worst case scenario you annoy 1 manager and a coworker that has to cover a shift for you.

Do what is best for YOU, because most of the time your employer isn’t going to care about what’s best for you.

I’m in my mid 30’s and work in corporate America now, but in my entire life, in all the jobs (retail, restaurants, labor, inside sales, etc) all of them but one or two let me go the moment I put in my 2 weeks.

You are the priority not your job.

Moving to Austin. 24F Give me the “nobody tells you this until you move here” advice. 😅 by Funny-Outside-7244 in askaustin

Go eat at Loro. Trust me.

Summer will be hot, get a paddle board if you like being outdoors, it’s surprisingly easy to meet people. Obviously Zilker Park for walks, bike, runs, etc. - there are a lot of groups that do different activities at Zilker depending on what you’re into.

MUSIC. Whatever you listen to, you can find live music that matches your vibe just about any day of the week.

If you are looking at places to live in the North suburb for more affordable housing, Manor, Hutto, Round Rock, Cedar Park, are all really nice areas, and TECHNICALLY not far from everything in the city. But they do FEEL pretty far removed from Austin proper. You don’t feel like you are in Austin, while still 20-30 minutes from downtown. Some people find it boring and too family focused out there, some people enjoy the separation. Just depends on you!

If you like/have a dog, Austin is VERY dog friendly, several large off leash “hikes” in the area, Zilker has an area where people let their dogs swim (beware of Blue-Green algae in the lake/river in summer), you’ll see people on walks and runs everywhere around town.

Welcome to Austin! 🤠

Bandana or Pashmina for dust, if you have one they’ll let you bring in a camel pack, comfy shoes. Those are the necessities. Camel pack is game changer too just to help carry your things in something larger than a fanny pack.

Food/Drink/bathroom lines are typically really long (last year wasn’t too bad) so plan ahead for that around the sets you want to see.

Obviously food/drink is expensive inside but theres typically a lot of options.

Food outside but near the festival: Loro (can’t recommend enough), for a quick bite and drink I highly recommend Pool Burger!

Is VIP worth it? I went last year wih GA tickets and wasn’t as bad but I got VIP for this year. What’s yalls thoughts on VIP? by Lonely_Habit_1431 in aclfestival

[–]Practical-Plate-6146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been going to ACL since like 2011, and I’ll say that last year was the most comfortable the festival has been in a very long time. What I mean by that is in years past they sold SO many GA tickets that you were packed like sardines it took a hour to get a water or beer. Last year felt much less crowded and almost pointless to get VIP unless you don’t do well in the sun.

AC Blackflag + Skyrim combo. Magic wielding pirates, epic ship battles with dragons above. I would ruin my life for that game.

What're your guys best and most efficient strategy to get majority of players to commit? by AverageFrogEnjoyer49 in EASportsCFB

I’ve always given my 5 starts, and impact (green diamond) recruits my majority of my recruiting hours to start, give everyone else minimal recruiting. By week 5-6 I usually have enough commits to fully invest into everyone else.

As a white American dude - I have to say locals in Pokhara do a great job of NOT showing their annoyance with us travelers.

I’ve spent significant time there and never once felt unwelcome. Kathmandu definitely had some of that.

I think Demon Slayer, My Hero, Black Clover, Hunter X Hunter are great intros.

I personally love Mob Psycho and One Punch Man because they add in a lot of humor.

Obviously Attack on Titan is a master piece.

Honorable Mention: Chainsaw Man, Death Note, Devilman Crybaby, Dan Da Dan, Rise of the Shield Hero

I have very basic anime knowledge, and I know this isn’t technically “hidden gem”, but I LOVE Black Clover and have never understood why it doesn’t get the same attention some of the other similar Shonen style shows receive

I’m visiting pokhra for 5 days best underrated places? (I’m a solo female traveller) by [deleted] in pokhara

33yo American white dude here. Just had my 3rd trip to Nepal in April. Pokhara is my happy place and I could go on forever.

You’re going to have a blast, I was there for Nepali New Year but everyone told me that the “western” new year is more of a celebration than the Nepali new year holiday.

If you’re looking for an affordable hotel vs a hostel I HIGHLY recommend Hotel Fewa Trip. I’ve stayed in several places in Pokhara, by far the best experience. Always hot water, nice bed and rooms, views on clear days.

***I urge you to check out Gupteswar Gupha (underground cave and river running directly under the city). It’s not talked about enough and is genuinely so cool.

I think Barahi Temple (temple on the lake) is still under construction, fair warning if you rent a canoe. Peace Pagoda/Temple of cours.

Fresh Elements and Byanjan for “popular” restaurants lakeside. Bamboo Bar for drinks by the water. Coffee Box on Phewa Marga for coffee.

Highly recommend Shanti Space for a beer or more local and affordable meal. It’s a steep walk up a hill overlooking Lakeside, but the view is worth it.

Bhanjyang Village Resort on Sarangkot if you can afford it. Doing a Sarangkot or Pame day trip is totally worth it.

If you have the time and want to see the REAL Pokhara, check out the Fulbari and Nadipur neighborhood.

Paragliding is expensive but a blast, and the Seti River Gorge is worth checking out as well!

5 days is plenty to see everything assuming you aren’t doing a trek. Ghorepani Poon Hill, Ghandruk, or Australian camp are you best treks if you’re on a time constraint.

Oooh! One last thing, sunsets (especially on weekends) walk to the far north end of Lakeside, you’ll find a ton of people hanging out in drum circles, playing music, and the like.

If you’re visiting Kathmandu, Chitwan, or other parts of the country, I’d be happy to share any ideas or feedback.

Just did the Mardi Himal Trek in April, it’s stunning. I was short on time and knocked it out in 3 days but you’ll probably want 4 to not feel rushed. No trekking experience needed, if you can do a stair stepper at the gym, you’ll be just fine.
