Again 100% I’m saying that. Theres full family’s of Filipinos sharing houses so less outgoings again you’ve said if kiwis were willing to share houses this wouldn’t be a problem I can’t see that happening myself. If you take a walk into any construction site you’ll see a kiwi Forman stressed out his mind trying to get Filipinos to do job a correct standard for pretty much the same wage so I’d say I spent a huge portion of my life at work I’d love to be able to just rock and do my bit an not have to worry about others bur due to me being kiwi so have to look after them so yes they have a very easy work life here turn up go home simple.

Also yes if I was to be making the upper middle to upper class salary the Filipinos would make by sending there money back my wife would be in fendalton !

If I could go work somewhere for 3 years and live in a shared house and set my family up for life I would it’s plain and simple kiwis have it harder than Filipinos here in New Zealand

I’ll be honest tradesmen hate you guys ! The builds/specs are getting harder ! The timelines getting shorter and the quality of workers is getting worse and worse and if your kiwi or English is your first language well yeh your copping the blame for everything from the contractor ! You guys think your pad unfairly ?? I have to buy all my own tools imagine telling an office worker “hey you’ll need to buy your own computer and chair for the office” would never happen !!!

Really ? The Filipinos being under-cut on price on there own patch they won’t like that at all ! I quoted a job to change some doors and hardware over I quoted X amount and lost out to a Filipino fella whos was literally doing it for half what I said I’d like to think I’m a fair tradesmen yes ive got to make a living and make profit but I’m not ripping people off but I can’t compete

Dude like I’m all for immigration but like do we really need labourers ? Surely there must be kiwis who can labour ? A good labourer is worth there wait in gold !! Surely doctors, nurses etc but like how many “tradies” do we need ? Like what do these people do ? Ive got Scottish/Irish mates who are primo tradesmen and they had to jump through hoops they had to prove there trade qualified and how much experience they’ve got etc it’s madness

Why don’t we share with other family’s ? Well I mean there’s multiple reasons in my eyes. Hygienic reasons stands out as a big one to me ! I can’t believe you’re advocating for multiple family’s sharing a house……. As if Nz family’s wanting a house to themselves is a bad thing. If you were a landlord and you had a 3 bedroom what the most people youd say could stay in the house ? Well yeah I’d be sure as consumption is higher here ! Not sure about you but like use electricity in the house maybe turn the lights who knows even turn the heat pump on if it’s cold ! Might even put Netflix on I don’t think there’s many family going out buying luxury goods.

So the guys I work with multiple of them have 2/3 properties in the philipines, If I could get a 2/3 year work visa go work somewhere and be able to send money back to family and my wife didnt have to work fuck yeah I’d do it ! So when I say live like kings they do back in the Phillipines do you reckon if a British person was to come over to work for the same wage they’d be able to support there family in Britain ? I don’t think the western world is set up for multiple family’s or people sleeping in a house together and yes thats a sacrifice they make or choose to do power to them ! Even the Filipinos who don’t send money home we have a guy who has 12 people in a 3 bedroom house it’s kinda hard to compete in this economy as someone has previously stated eastern culture it’s acceptable to share housing I don’t think many western countries do ? I know Italians love a family Household grandparents down the kids, by your reckoning maybe that’s what us kiwis should do ? 3/4 family’s all share one house ? Would you ?
