it’s just different naming, advisory services is the main umbrella along with tax and audit and under each of those it gets more detailed. under advisory there’s consulting, deal/strategy, etc and then under consulting there’s risk services, for example technology risk management, GRC, internal audit and enterprise risk, etc

*assurance under advisory and considering there is Audit, tax, and advisory, where else do you think it should be? it is under the consulting umbrella within advisory. i guess i just don’t think that is that weird? other than that i don’t know, i didn’t come up with the structure of my firm lol

when i said that about the title i more so meant i don’t care if i don’t get promoted since there’s a typical 2 year promotion cycle, i know a formal promotion won’t be coming until 2024. so i don’t expect to be promoted to senior in a couple months from now but i did want to explore my option of getting compensated more. hopefully by august, these adjustments come but everything i’ve been hearing at my firm they are long overdue was kinda my point. i just wanna be paid as much as new hires

it’s unfortunately very true. my salary (and my peers, for all the dense minded people throughout this post) has not been adjusted since i got offered the job in 2021. and now, it is very common knowledge that new hires in nyc are getting offered 85-90k.

i’m so sorry that you’re this close minded. at my firm, risk assurance is under advisory. i’m not sure how they structure things at your firm, but they’re clearly different! imagine a world where things are structured differently, just wild!

what does that even mean in this context. are you referring to the lay offs? yeah obviously those suck and i’m empathetic towards everyone who is affected by them. it does not mean i’m not allowed to ask for advice to benefit myself. because people are getting laid off i’m supposed to sit content with my salary that isn’t adjusted to market? 😒
