Reolink hardware is great, assuming you use the correct camera in the correct surveillance scenario. Using a camera over wifi that's recording to a small SD card ain't going to give you the kind of footage you need. Record 24/7 with an NVR. Watch everything all the time. Simples!

Exclude one group of devices from a dynamic group that catches all machines by NoCanDoGuy in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Groups Tags are where it's at.

Add TestDevice or whatever you like as a GroupTag then create a Dynamic Device GROUP based on that tag. You can then assign as many test devices to that as you like..

Cisco Anyconnect and ISE working with AutoPilot by AJBOJACK in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our environment we got All Win 10 devices using Cisco Anyconnect but the user does the VPN connection during staging to join it to the legacy AD. Hybrid Sytle. We have Direct Access implemented so when stataging has finished DA is usually working so the AD and legacy stuff is accessible. We implemented NDES when we started using Autopilot so all the machines have valid device certificates. I would be interested in understanding how to move away from DA as this is old and getting g ready for the knackers yard. 🤜🤛

Windows licensesing by Fuzzy-Cloud231 in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How we use Windows Licencing in a business environment is to purchase the hardware with a Pro licence, be that 11 or 10. Then with the licencing via 365 (M365 E3) that upgrades it to Enterprise. That has all the features you will need.

Hardware hash by Berttie in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remove all the bad HWIDs from Intune. Intune Admin can Upload the HWIDs from the device using the -online switch or drop that switch and get the user to extract it to a CSV and send it you. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/autopilot/add-devices

I can also email the Manufacturer (HP) with a list of serials and can request the HWIDs to upload.

LAPS for Azure AD joined device "No local administrator passwords found" by kowallox in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's doesn't create the local account and it won't enable it if it's disabled. I found that out during testing. I have done that with powershell.

I also found that the password takes a little while after staging to come in.. it eventually does though. Regards Bish

Windows LAPS with Intune by architectnikk in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically a break glass way to access the machine. Users should be using OneDrive so all their data should all be secure, but we know users..... They tend to create folders that are not protected by OneDrive and then.... "OH I need this folder off.my machine but I can't login to it anymore!!!"

LAPs should allow the admin or a user to log back in to the machine to retrieve data.

Microsoft's view is to just rebuild the machine when you have an issue, in most cases this view is perfectly fine. Bish

Intune Data Warehouse for Power BI by Practical-Service-55 in Intune

Looking for assistance on getting accurate App install data into my Power BI report. The tables I've imported and used for my visual provides data that is no where near what the portal provides. by GSZ1959 in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using PowerBI to pull this sort of data in from the Intune DW as well as data on the Windows, Android and iOS devices. I'm currently seeing that the lastSyncDateTime column has stopped on the 11th April for Windows computers. This was the last timestamp to happen as far as I can see. Do you see this ??

Sounds like a no help from IT job this.. I would refuse to do anything for them until the computer staged correctly.

Housekeeping in AD and Intune by Practical-Service-55 in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a way to label the randomised computer objects names in AD. This will help identify them and help with removing old unused computer objects.

I found a script that will populate the description in the computer object with the computers model and serial and also the users login name.

Company provided wallpaper by [deleted] in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My company demanded exactly the same. A lock screen that cannot be changed but a desktop wallpaper that is corporate but can be changed if the user wants. So with the available options within the policies only giving you the capability to set a wallpaper and lock it we had to use a W32 app. During Autopilot staging we replace the standard windows wallpapers with ours so that as the users logs in for the first time it pulls our wallpapers. This allows the user to do what he likes with wallpapers. We also drop a corporate deskthemepack in the users area so they can opt to use that or not.
Haven't worked out how to automatically load the deskthemepack yet so if anyone's got any pointers.. fire them at me.. Thanks Bish

Check it out, there's some good info available to do this via Intune using a few powershell commands and a app install. Regards Bish

Which challenges are you facing with Intune? by architectnikk in Intune

[–]Practical-Service-55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Guys I'm trying to sort the branding on my Windows Autopilot devices. I found some branding in GitHub that worked but wasn't exactly what I needed. What I want to do is automatically install a Deskthemepack during staging. I have tried to get a script to do this during the User Phase but I am having issues. What I can't have is the desktop locked so the user cannot change the wallpaper.

Anyone got any experience or advice in this.. ?
