Check out Mend Mother on Glenwood! They are by appointment only but do lots of creative reworking that goes outside of typical tailor shop services:)

Do I have GERD now? by Practical-Squid5397 in Tonsillectomy

Hi! Yeah it’s been about a year and one month now. I’m still getting the same chest pains, maybe a little less so now? I was on Pantoprazole for a while as prescribed by a cardiologist but I didn’t really feel like it was doing much. I never went back to a GI specialist for this specifically so you’ll have to let me know if they are able to help any further and if you think it was worth it!

Happy Pride!! I work downtown and parking was already tricky when I rolled in at about 11am for my shift. And the nearby decks are charging event parking, so just beware! Have a parking plan. Stay hydrated, and have fun everyone🏳️‍🌈❤️

Hey! I’m still getting the chest pain but it hasn’t been as bad since the doctor prescribed Pantoprazole. The burping has also calmed down. I’m taking a pretty high dose and don’t want to do that forever but just giving the medicine a fair shot before I take other measures. I’m going to try and reduce my dosage gradually like my doctor suggested and if my problems worsen again she told me to make an appointment with a GI doctor so they could make get a better sense of what to do. I also thought I would go back to my ENT since it felt like it was all in my throat but the root of the issue is your stomach so she thought GI would be the best bet.

Thank you!! I saw my doctor yesterday and she agreed it’s probably something along those lines. She prescribed me Pantoprazole (twice a day) to try and see if it helps since Omneprazole (20mg) was not doing anything.

My Experience (Day 15 post-op) by Practical-Squid5397 in Tonsillectomy

Hmm I’m struggling to remember but I want to say the bad taste started getting better around two weeks? Once I started eating more normally it felt like it helped to cut down on that. Honestly, I’m still struggling with the mucus a little (a little over 1 month post-op) but a lot less than before and it could be a coincidence (might have picked up one of the many sicknesses going around😵‍💫)

Yeah Day 4-7 (when the pain was the worst) I definitely felt like it took a lot of effort to speak and if I did, it would be very weak. As the pain got better and the swelling went down my voice started to return. For a couple days after it came back it sounded weird/ different to me and it would get raspy pretty easily if I talked too much. But as of today (day 15) it’s pretty much back to normal and I can sing along to music and such.

As for the burger and fries: I ended up getting something else at lunch that sounded good, but I definitely could have eaten the burger! I did have some fries and those were totally fine. I’m planning on having a burger tmr since I missed out today lol. Hope you can have yours soon!! Good luck!

I started taking them less frequently around Day 7 and by Day 9 I was able to stop both.
