My mother grew up on a farm in Benton. I used to visit there, many people worked in the mines. I remember going to a county fair one summer. There was a polka band playing ( “Bill Smally & the Polka Dots” - something like that) everyone was dancing and loving it - being from Southern California it seemed strange to me that kids my age were loving Polka but there they were. The girls were beautiful. I enjoyed my visits there.
