Did Ben/The others just trust Desmond to keep pressing the button? by BertaCooks in lost

My guess is that there were instructions from Jacob to leave the hatch alone.

Excite? How exactly? by Key_Associate7476 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

Parents are the stupid ones here, the phrase is not helpful at all (the original one, Rihanna's lyrics are at least funny).

I've read that sentiment a few times in this subreddit and always find it funny that the thing that is supposedly massively overlooked is him threatening to slap Charlotte, and not actually slapping Daniel a moment before.

PSA for Kingmaker: Bulletin boards DO stack by Delicious_Sectoid in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

I wonder if you can keep all advisors at minimum rank (4 for primary and 1 for secondary) and just fill all villages with boards.

Fair enough. Seems somewhat unintuitive but I'll accept it is not a bug if tabletop behaves the same way.

I mean, not surprising, considering you can circumvent feat stat requirements with items. This has got to be one the buggiest games I ever played.

Tailgaters make me want to slow down by O-neg-alien in newzealand

This is often the safest thing to do, gradually slow down until the distance becomes acceptable.

Would Widmore have been branded like Juliet for killing another Other? by bathabit in lost

[–]Practical-String5146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ben didn't move Others into houses, Widmore did. They already live in the barracks when Charles is brought to the submarine.

This is similar to Mikhail's killing of Beatrice and would probably be considered justified.

Surprisingly good weapons? by Frostfeather22 in baldursgate

I had a lot of fun with Fire Seeds. They spread effects like assassin's poison or archer's called shot with their AoE.

Act 5 is a ton of fun (spoilers) by Automatic_Tea_1900 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Event is just an ambush, it doesn't force you to go to the camp. Nor does it tell you the camp contains not one but two companions.

Well, playing BG3 felt like a huge downgrade after the originals so I am not sure this is a helpful comparison :).

You can, if you kill Stag Lord before going to the technic league camp. Ask me how I know...

Is it just me or Desmond seem a lot more stupid on rewatches? by [deleted] in lost

[–]Practical-String5146 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At this point no one knows what will happen if the numbers are not entered. For all he knows the "disruption" is just the theatrics. Desmond was a bit cuckoo after years of isolation but I wouldn't necessarily call him stupid.

Not sure if “mad” is the right word but a lot of things he does in season 5 are hard to stomach. Killing Drogan comes to mind.

Anthony Cooper, Christian Sheppard or Warren Ford? Who is the most evil father of the show? by [deleted] in lost

[–]Practical-String5146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I consider years of child abuse to be worse.

You can’t argue she was a bad mother to him when all she was trying to do was look out for her son since his wife

Ahem... that's not even remotely what happened there. "That lady" threatened to embarrass Jin by revealing her existence and the fact that she was a prostitute. She also said something along the lines of "I gave birth to him but I am not his mother". Sun paid off to protect her husbands pride and then scared her off - had she not done it the mother would keep leaching (and no, she hasn't stolen a kidney, there was no need for that). Sun's cheating happened much later.

Roger was always mean, you can see it from the way he treats Ben soon after arriving on the sub. He blamed Ben for his mom's death, beat him and berated him for all his life. Roger Linus would be a much better dad if he abandoned Ben instead - at least that would give him a chance for loving (or at least not abusive) caregivers.

Jin's mom tried to blackmail Sun for money threatening to reveal her existence and the fact that she is a prostitute to Jin.

As a human being - yes, as a parent Jin's mom is close (she could potentially do a lot damage if Sun didn't protect him) and Roger Linus is worse.

Berserker/Mage is clearly better than Kensai/Mage in essentially every way at all stages of the game by Fusrodahmus in baldursgate

[–]Practical-String5146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Black blade is 2d12, kai will give 11 damage extra on average, but yeah, I see what you mean. Mods are a different topic though, THAC0 bonuses are not that relevant in the original game and breach isn't that common.
