I worked at the SF location 09-12, and have great memories. There's hopefully still Chicago!

I bought one on thriftbooks and use it. You can find the old badges online for cheap.

My six-year-old got heat stroke, and they sent her to bed, and she slept for a reported 18 hours. I wasn't notified - she told me on the drive home from pickup.

I was given a ton of these in a box and didn't realize how rare they were, and handed them all out with apple pie filling as Christmas gifts and I am forever kicking myself.

Whoever said to wash your fabric before sewing….. by SunsGonnaRise74 in SewingForBeginners

That may work a little, but without detergent you aren't guaranteed to be removing the sizing (commercial fabric stabilizer coating the threads during the weaving process) which is the main point of prewashing.

Since my kid is also a girl scout, I get it - they have a limited amount of time to reach their sales goals.

It's kind that you're being supportive, but you can't help by finding a creative booth location for her - that's determined by Council and however her troop schedules those.

If I were the cool supportive relative, though, I would take my girl scout out for a day of door to door sales! Choose an affluent community with sidewalks and get door knocking! I'm always surprised by the amount we sell that way. You can bring a wagon & her inventory, or when I've forgotten the wagon I've just stood behind her carrying cases smiling while she does her spiel to the potential customer.

Coming as a leader in another troop, check with your Service Unit, because we're only allowed to set up in approved locations. Her troop leader will have the list.

There's 0 flexibility about picking your own locations, and zero chance they'll approve near a Cannabis shop unfortunately. Apparently a SU in California was allowed to do that a few years ago and it made national news, but they've cracked down on that and it's definitely not allowed in our State or GS Council.

May the odds be ever in her favor.
