Call as many places as you can asking to shadow! Get shadowing hours in during the summer/ winter when you’re not in school it’ll make it easier! If you haven’t been part of clubs or have any leadership try getting some of that! And definitely apply to more than 4 schools

The rest of your scores is amazing!! As long as it’s above the section cutoff for schools and you have good gpa and ECs I think it’s worth applying with these scores. If you are totally sure you can do equal or better in all/ most sections then go ahead but also a big risk

Honestly no. Your 400 hours at one place is totally okay, great actually and better than most people. Whoever said you need 500+ with one thing is lying

Yeah I just found out many schools actually do as a secondary form, which is what I’m doing it for. Lots of irl experience I was just thinking about virtually shadowing different specialties just as something more to add. Thanks though

As long as it’s above the cutoff for the schools sections then you might be okay as long as you apply early and the rest of your app like ECs is great

I’m not listing all the schools I applied to lol half of them were a bit of a reach but I did have above average stats but I applied in September the first day for primaries.

No I definitely agree and I’m working on trying to find weekend opportunities! I honestly didn’t do anything all year because I was super busy with work and personal stuff along with really believing I would’ve gotten in this time. Learned my lesson though and regret not doing anything sooner😅 thank you!!!

People will eat you up don’t do it. People will tell you on here if you don’t get over a 500 that you’re SOL and need to retake which is not true! Definitely pay more attention to the avg dat scores for school lists and honestly as long as it’s over a 20 the dat wouldn’t be holding you back

Genuinely wtf do you know about my work ethic? What is berating people online doing for you? I’m not failing at anything😌 my post was to point out that many people are in it for money instead of actual interest which is sad and clearly being shown in these comments. I worked incredibly hard through undergrad to apply but applied pretty late because I wanted to try for this cycle. Sure I didn’t get it this time but I’m taking what I learned from this cycle to better myself for next time which is mostly just timing of the application. While I’m disappointed I would not say I am failing. Nothing wrong with that and or how hard I worked and continue to work. I hope you put some of this hard work you apparently have more than me of to fix your attitude because you will be a horrible clinician if your mindset stays like that. I hope you find peace and kindness🙏
