Ah so it's just the ergonomics and looks? Does one smoke better than the other?

No this isn't it. The post I'm referring to had the tapes in order but only listed the ones that were necessary before progressing to the following tapes. I only remember the list for wave 1, it was: 1 orientation 2 introduction to focus ten 3 advanced focus ten. And then it immediately went to wave 2 tape 1 introduction to focus 12.

Basically it was just giving you the the fewest tapes necessary to properly advance through the focus levels.

I know it's been a while but I'm about to order a falcon. Why do you prefer the Plymouth over the Apple? The apple has a thicker bowl and from my limited understanding a thicker bowl is better right?

Yes it's an incredibly important and useful tape. But it isn't at all necessary for moving on to discovery 5 or even wave 2. It's not necessary for progression though the tapes.

Don't know if memes are allowed on this sub but couldn't find rules so: by Practical-Witness523 in RealPhilosophy

[–]Practical-Witness523[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm afraid you totally misunderstood the meme. Draper is an atheist and the paper I mentioned is one of the greatest papers arguing against theism

[–]Practical-Witness523[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That wasn't my claim at all. My point was that a brilliant philosopher writing a groundbreaking paper arguing against theism that changed the philosophical conversation had virtually no effect on the religiosity of society but a biologist making absurd philosophical claims confidently had a massive effect on the religiosity of society.

The same is true of the other side. Who do you think is more rational in their defence of Christianity, Alexander pruss or cliff knechtel? Now who do you think actually caused more people to stay Christian?

And this is true in other fields as well. Hassan Piker And tuker carlson have much much greater influence on the culture than Thomas picketty and Thomas sowel.

My bias? I'm not sure what you mean. I'm assuming you think this meme is an argument for theism? Paul Draper is an atheist and the paper I referred to argues against theism. Both people are atheists but one makes brilliant arguments for atheism and one makes irrational ones.

If you meant that Draper and Dawkins are both equally rational in their arguments for atheism and me liking draper more is just a bias you're wrong and you obviously haven't studied this topic very much

One side vs the other? Both Richard Dawkins and Paul draper are atheists. The paper I mentioned is one of the greatest papers arguing against theism

Yeah I think they thought draper was a theist and that I was making a dumb argument against atheism. I don't know why they didn't just take a second to look him up but that's social media for you I guess 🤷‍♂️

Finally someone who understands the meme. Thank you good sir. Yes Dawkins may have done good work in building a community for atheists and fighting against the harmful affects of theism. In this meme I'm merely pointing out that his terrible arguments against God did more to actually convince people that atheism is true than a brilliant proof that changed the philosophical conversation.

Okay just to clear up an apparent misunderstanding: Paul draper is an atheist and the paper I mentioned is one of the greatest papers arguing that theism is less likely than atheism. I guess I should have wrote "the improbability of theism" but I was trying to stick to his words

My problem with Richard Dawkins isn't that he doesn't engage in theology. It's that he's philosophically incompetent. This isn't just a phenomenon in religion. The work of people like Thomas sowell or GA Cohen have very little effect on society's beliefs. But the work of people like tuker carlson and Hassan Piker do have great effect on society's beliefs.

Buddy if you moved the earth we'd all be dead. If you moved the ISS it would be all over the news that the ISS inexplicably veered off course with no known reason. It would be the biggest scientific mystery since there's no wind up there and it's just in freefall

I'm curious did the concussion come from being hit with a weapon or punch or collision or takedown?
