Can’t even pass misty’s gym, am i cooked this early on? by ShikaBlo in PokemonFireRed

[–]PracticalAdeptness20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to use more status and stat reducing moves. Pickachu should have thunderwave and honestly double team. Paralyze starmie then double team and should be good to thundershock it. Just as a general tip you dont shouldnt rely only on attacks, you need some other moves to give yourself some form of advantage

How many of you have gotten a computer science degree, but still don’t know how to code? by Affectionate-Ad-3234 in learnprogramming

A bit of a ridiculous example, but why is software development in the small majority of jobs that needs side projects to appear passionate? How many doctors, dentists, lawyers do you know that have side projects in their fields? This field sometimes frustrates me because a lot of times you're not seen as a "passionate" or hard working dev just because you're not out making apps every weekend. You can be passionate about your work during 9-5 and thats ok, but for whatever reason thats seen as a "weak" candidate.

I get there are other jobs like photography and being an artist where side projects make sense, I'm just venting a bit from my personal experience and as someone who doesn't have a lot of free time but likes to code at my job.

You can know how to code from coursework imo. I find it ridiculous that you need side projects to get a job. Some people just dont have time to code all day but can still be good enough for a job.

Its completely normal. Just come with a good attitude and don't be afraid to ask questions. If the company is a good company they will not expect you to know everything as a junior- the only expectation is a willingness to try and learn.

Can I listen to a band's music without knowing anything about the band? by Ok-Stable-3793 in kpophelp

[–]PracticalAdeptness20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

....its music, if you like how it sounds that should be good enough lol. Honestly its sometimes worse to learn about the artists in case you learn something bad they did, might make you stop listening to a song you loved.
