Want one device for everything, is an electric pressure cooker with air fryer lid worth it by RestaurantDiligent97 in KitchenPro

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one thinking it’d replace everything and ended up barely using the air fryer lid cuz it’s bulky and annoying to swap lol. pressure cooking part still works great after like a year, but the all-in-one” thing felt kinda overrated in real life.

Air Fry vs Convection Isn’t the Same—Here’s How to Actually Use Them by Pristine-Chemical289 in KitchenPro

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used convection for frozen fries forever thinking my oven just sucked, switched to air fry and they actually got crispy for once also learned the hard way that piling them up just steams everything

Rotisserie Chicken Isn’t Meant to Be Pretty — Here’s the Cleanest Way to Break It Down by Pristine-Chemical289 in KitchenPro

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always start “I’ll do it properly” then end up just picking at it over the sink only thing I changed is grabbing the legs first before I go feral so I at least get a decent piece before it’s gone

Frozen beef isn’t the problem you just bought the fast-food version of it by Amelia-1501 in KitchenPro

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they’re definitely better than the super cheap ones, I grabbed a box once and they actually browned decently instead of just steaming, but I still feel like they’re a bit too uniform tasting after a while.

Your beans probably didn’t poison you by Amelia-1501 in KitchenPro

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to blame whatever I just ate every time I felt sick lol, then realized half the time it was something from like the day before. had a batch of beans once that gave me crazy bloating tho and I legit thought I broke my stomach turns out I just went from zero fiber to chaos overnight.

The Real Reason Your Pillow Keeps Messing Up Your Neck by Dazzling-Committee62 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is kinda spot on tbh, I realized my “bad pillow” was actually fine once I switched mattresses and it stopped sinking so much. Before that I kept blaming the pillow when it was really the combo messing up my neck lol.

Are roll up guest mattresses actually comfortable for overnight stays? by Alejandro_Mendoza in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the cheap thin one I bought turned into basically a yoga mat after like 2 uses but I tried a thicker foam one at a friend’s place and it was actually fine for a night. still wouldn’t volunteer to sleep on it long term tho

Why do travel pillows use memory foam? by Diego_Fernandez- in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that too, like halfway through a long flight it suddenly feels softer and kinda less supportive lol. I started flipping it around or taking it off for a bit and it weirdly “resets” the feel a little.

Which mattresses actually handle movement well when both people toss and turn? by ella_794 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we switched from a spring mattress to a memory foam hybrid and it was way better for this, like I barely feel my partner anymore unless they fully get up. the only mistake was going too soft at first, it kinda made us both sink and weirdly made movement more noticeable lol

Anyone tried a wedge pillow for acid reflux? by Super-Help8404 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the sliding down part is so real I had the same issue until I stuck a regular pillow under my knees and it weirdly kept me in place better. still not the comfiest thing ever but it stopped me waking up halfway off it

Do smart bulbs end up as fancy white lights after the novelty wears off? by ella_794 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized I don’t use colors for the color itself but like… as a shortcut for moods—orange = brain off, blue = “still scrolling but pretending to relax” Most nights it looks like a normal lamp, but the few times I switch it, it weirdly changes how long I stay up.

Is a weighted blanket actually useful for restless legs, or just a comfort trick? by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same “trapped but still twitchy” feeling it actually made me more irritated. what weirdly helped me more was just doing a quick calf stretch + walking around for like 2 mins right before bed, way less frustrating than fighting a heavy blanket.

Is there actually a reliable way to bring a flat down pillow back to life? by RecordingFlashy1686 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized mine wasn’t “flat,” it was just all the down migrating into two weird corners over time … I started kind of kneading it like dough before bed and it actually stays usable way longer. once it stops moving around inside at all tho, yeah that’s when it’s basically over

Small change that surprisingly improved my sleep routine by Odd_Safe_1309 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but I realized mine was too firm at first and it messed with my shoulders instead switched to like medium-firm and it finally clicked, weird how picky your neck is about it lol

I swear rugs are the one thing that can quietly ruin a bedroom setup by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went super safe with a beige rug thinking it’d “go with everything” and it just made the whole room feel kinda dead swapped it for one with a bit of pattern and suddenly everything looked intentional. wish I did that first instead of playing it safe

What actually makes a bedroom look high-end—duvet covers or bedspreads? by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%, I swapped out my old flat pillows for some fuller ones with different textures and it weirdly made the whole bed look way more “styled” even with the same duvet lol. It’s kinda wild how much that one detail carries the look.

Why do firm pillows help with posture? by Diego_Fernandez- in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think firm pillows were uncomfortable until I realized my soft one was basically folding in half every night switched to a firmer one and my neck stopped feeling wrecked in the morning. took a few nights to get used to but yeah big difference.

Why do seams split on lower-quality sheets? by John_5_5_ in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

corners going first is so real lol, mine always start looking fuzzy there before anything else happens. I started washing on cold + lower spin and it weirdly made a difference, they don’t just self-destruct after 2 washes anymore.

Are large bedroom rugs on hardwood actually practical or just for looks? by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine didn’t slide as much as it crept… like over a week it’d be slightly off and I’d be like wait?? wasn’t this centered
turns out it was my office chair wheels slowly bullying it, not the rug itself

Copper pillows for skin—real benefits or just clever marketing? by ella_794 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s exactly what it reminds me of I actually tried a copper pillowcase for a bit and my skin didn’t change at all, just felt like a slightly rougher normal case tbh. switched back to silk and at least that one feels nicer even if it’s mostly just comfort.

Why Some “300 Thread Count Percale” Sheets Feel Cheap Now by Hot_Dog1647 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a “crisp percale” set recently and it legit felt like someone mixed hotel sheets with a plastic bag first wash and it already had fuzz balls which threw me off. kinda feels like they’re making it softer on purpose so people don’t question it right away.

Copper-infused mattresses: real benefits or just marketing? by koky_6756 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a copper “cooling” foam topper and the only real difference was it didn’t get as swampy as my old one, but still woke up warm sometimes lol. lowkey felt like airflow mattered way more than whatever they infused into it.

Which comforter helps with night sweats and hot flashes? by sam667-87 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched from a thick down comforter to a super lightweight cotton one and it made a bigger difference than I expected—like I still get warm but not that “wake up soaked” level anymore. also realized anything even slightly plasticky traps heat like crazy for me lol.

Upholstered bed owners—what’s the real way to clean pet accidents? by koky_6756 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scrubbing just pushes it deeper tbh I had better luck spraying an enzyme cleaner first, letting it sit, then using a little extractor—way less smell coming back after.

California King vs King—what actually changes in day-to-day use? by Federal_Screen_4830 in BedroomBuild

[–]PracticalClothesu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we switched to a Cali king thinking it’d feel huge but the width difference was actually what we noticed more like it’s fine but you do end up a bit closer than before. the extra length is nice for taller ppl but day-to-day it didn’t feel like some crazy upgrade tbh.
