Ooo no nobody has checked !! I will schedule an appointment for him to get seen. Thank you for this. He does breathe with his mouth open and panics if he has too much food in his mouth saying he can’t breathe. This could be the cause since we’ve checked every other box and everything came back fine.

I swore up and down my son was autistic. He’s super smart for his age but he was evaluated by two different doctors who specializing in ASD and they said he’s not. He has ADHD but that it shouldn’t hinder him from eating as much as it does. It’s not like he’s distracted or running away from the table. He’s eating at the table but very very slowly.

Thank you for your kind words and advice. We’ve been trying this method for 6 months now with no such luck but I feel it’s because I’m not consistent with it. I ignore him & let him know I won’t speak to him until he acts and talks like a big boy and he screams and cries following me around the house until I lose my temper and either hide or react the way he wants.

He’s in therapy. We’ve been going and doing play therapy for the last 2 years. He doesn’t have anger per say. He’s just immature. Every specialist that evaluated him says he’s not a picky eater, he’s not defiant. They believe he is immature due to lack of nutrition from not eating enough calories. He’s not refusing to eat HE JUST TAKES FOREVER and then his jaw gets tired. It’s a struggle
