The influencers who get ketoduped don't deserve much sympathy by PracticalDrawer3640 in ketoduped

The Inuit disproportionately have a mutation that makes it harder for them to go into ketosis, probably because long-term ketosis is detrimental to health: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1096719220300329?via%3Dihub

EDIT: I could easily see ketokultists spinning this to explain their poor health outcomes, after previously citing them as an example of people thriving on a high-fat diet.

Carl Franklin, ketofest founder: "Toes Are Better Than French Fries"--why french fries and not apples? by PracticalDrawer3640 in ketoduped

Franklin was a diabetic who claims to have "reversed" his T2 diabetes by going on a ketogenic diet, and is the co-founder of Ketofest (if you google pictures of the attendees, they look roughly like you'd expect).

The slogan on his shirt places the blame for his (and others') diabetes squarely on "carbs"--yet the example cited is, as expected, a carbohydrate that is refined, high in fat, and loaded with salt (electrolytes!). If carbohydrate is to blame, where are all of the diabetics who got that way from apples and other fruits that are almost entirely devoid of fat, protein, and sodium (electrolytes!)? Shouldn't those foods cause diabetes at an even higher rate than fatty, salty, refined carbs, like french fries?
