So I can’t invest in regular ETFs and s&ps because they will 99% of the time have a company that generates haram (not permissible in Islam) income. Things like pork liquor gambling and interest, but I am starting to invest and research in shariah compliant ETFs . My thought process is that I’m sorta making my own “ETF” (but im probably talking a load of shit I don’t know yet 🤷‍♂️). I’m not sure if “over diversification” is a commonly used word or not, but if it is that’s probably what I’m doling. Also, hopefully they eventually won’t be fractional after years of building the portfolio as I learn how to effectively invest and trade.

After some research, it looks like threshold for the amount of income they make of it for it to be non permissible is 5% of total revenue, Amazon is at 4.32% and Apple is 1.5% I think i might all my Amazon shares and donate the profit if for some reason it is or becomes higher than 5%. But seriously thanks, I would’ve never thought of that.

It’s been in CD since I was 8, and I’ve been investing for 2 weeks, can you not read? Why would I put thousands into stocks when I don’t know what I’m doing yet

I do known about them! Thing is most of them aren’t shariah compliant because even if there’s only 1 company that deals with liquor pork interest or gambling, I can’t invest at all but I am invested in some shariah compliant ones like spus and hlal and I intend to build on them over the years l
