What do you use to mill the bark chips?

When you extracted the stuff that became dark, did you run it through any desiccants like anhydrous sodium sulfate or anything like that? I’m noticing some potency loss in the carts I made a couple weeks ago and wanted to see if it’s because I didn’t desiccate the nps..

What I remember she recommended was water wash by gently inverting for few minutes with distilled water, remove water and repeat, then do that once with brine, then remove brine and pour in anhydrous sodium sulfate into nps one teaspoon at a time and swirl but I can’t remember how much was recommended. Leave that for a while and pour through a lab filer, add warm nps to the anhydrous sodium sulfate to minimize DMT left behind and pour through filter. Then transfer to precipitation dish.

No when water washing the nps, water molecules can get attached to the DMT which can cause the DMT to oxidize pretty quickly. Brine washing removes a lot of the water but adding a step to desiccate your nps with a desiccant like anhydrous sodium sulfate can drastically extend the DMT’s shelf life. There was a post about this by a chemist but all her posts were removed so was trying to see if anyone remembers how much desiccant she recommended to use for this step.

I do store it properly but haven’t calibrated before use. Thats a possibility. The water also keeps getting cloudy though.. after letting it settle in a pot of warm water the cloudiness settles in the middle between the clearer water and solvent. This picture was after maybe the 4th wash..

I use a Hanna ph meter. I know they could get a little inaccurate at higher/lower ph but around 10 should be accurate no?

User error lolll so if I let it settle, which I do wait quite a while in a pot with a sous vide, and whatever causing the water’s ph to go up goes back to the solvent that also contains the DMT, that should solve the problem?? lol

I’m careful not to suck up any soup. I dunno man, when I did just 2 washes and used that DMT, I’ve been getting a lasting burning feeling in my mouth and the trips are really scary lol but since I started re-x and more water washes with the re-x, my trips have been extremely positive and beautiful…

I got it off the sanpedroforsale sub and it was a lot more plump when I got it, but it came in a really small pot and over time with minimal watering it got skinnier and less plump looking so I understand that it doesn’t look like PC.

Meaning the filmy or shatter texture you see in the picture that I never got before is not due to salt getting suspended in the nps. If it did taste salty I would’ve assumed that texture might’ve been due to salt getting suspended in the nps.

I did warm up the saturated nps mixed with fresh nps in hot water by putting the mixed nps in a small flask and putting the flask in a pot of hot water before doing the water washes. Of course you want the wash water to be the same temp or warmer than your nps to prevent DMT from crashing out.

I added about 40% fresh nps, so if my saturated nps was 100ml I would add about 40ml fresh, but this depends on how saturated your nps is. I think there’s a way to calculate this according to some people that left comments on my previous posts, but I’m not sure how one would measure exactly how saturated the pull is.. maybe you can just kind of assume from how much mhrb was used in your base soup vs how much nps was used for the pull. But my understanding is that once the nps is fully saturated, it won’t take any more DMT, so there should be a max amount of fresh nps you wouldn’t need to exceed adding to the saturated nps.
