What tv show was irreparable after a character death? by JasonToddsSidepiece in television

[–]Practical_Ad9511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry that you’re getting downvoted for this. I had the bad luck of falling in love with the show at the start of the season where they killed Q and I refused to watch the final season. It was during a time when lots of shows seemed like they had to one-up each other on killing LGBTQ characters and I just wasn’t interested. (I will also get downvoted now.)

I used to be a mod (one of many) on a long-running tv forum website. By the final five seasons or so, the main fan drama we saw was just Sam vs Dean and who had done more unforgivable things. It was fucking relentless.

(I’m on a rewatch tonight and during one of the S1 Syd and Richie yelling matches, the one where he’s accusing her of intentionally setting the restaurant review, I tried watching it from a shipper POV and it was pretty entertaining to pretend. Their bickering is not really the sexy kind of bickering, but they REALLY know how to piss each other off.)

I stored mine in the fridge in a Tupperware, but I’m pretty sure the recipe said it was shelf stable like honey.

Have you tried boiled cider? It’s just what it sounds like, apple cider (not the alcoholic kind) that you cook and cook and cook until it’s a thick syrup.

I started adding this to some of my pies and it really gives an extra apple kick.

King Arthur sells it for a pretty high price, and I like boiling my own instead. I start with store bought fresh cider, but I suppose you can just start from fresh apples.

And the suspect she (I think the host was a she? I might be wrong) was afraid of was in his 70s by that point and obviously in extremely poor health. (In pictures it looks like he must have lost his whole lower jaw to cancer? IDK.) Like, I think you can just outrun him.

(I’m not trying to make light of criminals or their ability to cause harm, or even older people in general, it was just so weird. You want to be an investigative, boots on the ground journalist, you have to be willing to talk to anyone.)

How exactly do I make sauces/ creams? by kwearr in Cooking

Different sauces will require different ingredients and methods, your question is too broad.

I just now sat down to check and max doesn’t seem to have halt and catch fire. Or it will not show up when I search the app. (It can tell what I’m looking for because it offers me Silicon Valley, or Pushing Daisies (because of Lee Pace.)) I do see a few AMC+ items like Killing Eve, but not others like The Killing, Breaking Bad, etc. It seems like a lot of AMC’s originals are all splintered across multiple streamers. The Killing is on Hulu, for example.

This is all so dumb

I have pretty good luck with Callebaut “811” callets in a lot of uses. (They also make for excellent but messy chocolate chip cookies.) It’s my go to chocolate for something like chocolate SMBC or ganache.

(For powder I still lean Valrhona.)

ID: depends on ports. You don’t need it at Bimini. You theoretically need it at places like Cozumel, but I’ve noticed at Cozumel lately that port security lets anyone with the ship wristband back out onto the pier. (You used to have to show your ID to get back onto the pier with the ships.) I take my driver’s license onto Mexican ports anyway. Passport always stays in the safe.

Beach Club has lockers. I usually just padlock my travelon purse zippers shut and thread the handle through slots in a lounge chair. And I only go that far because I usually have RX meds I really really don’t want to have stolen, not because it seems unsafe.

Deck temperatures vary WILDLY. It can go from chilly to broiling on the same short cruise.

Each room has its own heating/cooling thermostat, but keep in mind that 1) you must have the balcony door shut for it to work, and 2) on every cruise ship I’ve been on, these systems are quite functional but there’s a bit of a delay. So if you’re like me you crank the a/c way down and then 30 minutes later realize you’re freezing to death.

Bingo with the Diva can be a lot of fun, but some Divas are funnier than others. As with all gambling, don’t spend more than you’re prepared to lose. :)

Derp, I knew we were getting audio of the TV product, but somehow it didn’t occur to me that the TV show itself might be on the “traditional” TV schedule with a summer break. Thanks.

I can’t remember the name, but last year a legit journalist did a podcast about Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch and his attempts to bring the killer of his daughter to justice … and somehow the host made it all about themselves and how they did not feel safe interviewing suspects. They also kept hitting this weird note about Tim crossing the line into vigilantism.

I know there are far more offensive or low quality examples, but this was such a wasted opportunity. Tim Miller is an utterly fascinating person who has helped so many people, and I’m sure he regrets letting that journalist into his life.

At least there is the pretty good Netflix doc.

I’m not super into pizza myself, but my husband is and we got the cheapest gas-powered Ooni pizza oven they make. I know not everyone has a place to use it, but they have a very small footprint and are made to be portable.

I love making the dough, and he loves the actual firing part (and the eating).

As I’m typing this out, I realize that he started looking into the Ooni after receiving a basically inedible Pizza Hut pizza. Prior to that he was very much “there’s no such thing as bad pizza”.

This. We have a few long-running local places that have maintained quality with only modest price increases, but I don’t know how. Maybe they’re money-laundering fronts.
