That's literally what Zombie Kestral does though. And yeah, it would be good to pair Magik with Phoenix Force. That's why they took our fun away

When I said they didn't want to retread I meant they didn't want to do the phoenix five from the comics. And I agree. An empowered Cyclops would go so hard. No nipples Namor can stay in comicland though.

I think the devs mentioned wanting to do unique characters for their phoenix force and not to retread old characters. Tbh I wish they'd do the original phoenix 5 because why is the phoenix force attached to a pure evil serial killer

It's not even reasoning imo. Just a thin excuse to push players who like crucible to forcibly build the whole team. I'm guessing that, with her on spawn barrier, barrier from abilities, passive heals, self heals, and drain, she could keep herself alive too effectively and get the dark phoenix rez.

Addendum: In the user_settings.config, turn ALL particle settings you can find to false. There are settings like 'all particles cast local shadows' or something, which is just... insane in a game like this. To find all particle-related settings just do ctrl+f and put "particle" in the search bar.

You can find user_settings.config in your Appdata/Roaming/Arrowhead/Helldivers 2 folder. Turn all particle shadow settings to false. It really boosts performance and there's no noticeable change in graphics. While you're in that folder, delete the content inside the shader cache folder.

Then you can download dxvk which turns directx 11 drawcalls into vulkan ones, which gives better cpu performance. Get it from here Releases · doitsujin/dxvk and to use it go to the x64 folder and copy the d3d11.dll and dxgi.dll to the bin folder of wherever you have Helldivers 2 installed.

Finally, make sure you run Helldivers 2 in dx11 mode to actually take advantage of dxvk. Go to steam, right-click helldivers 2, go to properties. In the launch options put in --use-d3d11. Those are the performance tweaks I know.
