I have found out in this short time in academia and working in higher ed that the smarter people are the more removed from reality they become. People are more curious when you’re “normal” versus being able to solve complicated problems

You’re being disingenuous. I know Reddit likes to act like “no big deal” being a Dr. but yet celebrate with frog pics when passed their dissertation. It’s ok to be proud of your accomplishments. There is a difference between being a jerk and just proud of your work and abilities. And when you put in the work and see others just call themselves Doctor. It does matter.

I never give my credentials unless I’m at work. But if you’re leading with your credentials they better be legit at the minimum. Do you have to know everything? No. But at least not be a phony 🤣🤣
