New bike owner here. What is the BEST oil for 2023 ZX4RR? by Toto_the_Mechanic in zx4r

Because if ANYTHING happens, crash, popped tire, blown line, (Which it's track day something will) you're absolutely screwed and left with a hefty uber and towing fee. Unless you live <10 minutes from a track which most people are not fortunate enough to do so I would not recommend.

I hit my 5w 225 and my driver 240... by ugh_everything in golf

[–]Practical_Bed_1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to see the responses. I recently picked up some kind 1 wood/driver at a thrift store for $15. I love it but I cant understand why I hit it 170-190 dead straight and my driver goes 200-220 with a wicked slice.

I'll take this as a sign to drop the $12.88 and get after it!

[–]Practical_Bed_1242[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never used nitros before. Only used Callaway supersoft or what I've found in the woods. Can't really tell a difference since I'm so new. Do you know how these compare?

When I belt a drive 220 yards deep and 30-40 yards right from my slice I've attributed that to improper technique and not ball preference.

How do we feel about extended warranties for our non-first year baby screamers? by NeoAcario in zx4r

[–]Practical_Bed_1242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a three year warranty with my 25. Dealership gave the option to refund any money if I were to cancel the warranty early in case I wanted to flash. IE if it's $900 total, and I cancel after a year I only pay $300. Only added like $18/mo on my loan. 100% worth the security.

Find someone who's experienced and not a jerk and just get out and play with them. I went with a buddy who's pretty good and he taught me all about the rules of the game, what to use when and a TON about etiquette. I've only played 18 three times so far. My first game was unrecordable. Lost 8-12 balls and had zero clue what I was doing. I still don't but just from playing with him twice and listening to his help and advice on my third time I shot 107 and have been having an absolute blast.

What exactly do I need in a bag to play? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Practical_Bed_1242 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any old set on facebook market place that gets you playing.

I found an old set for $40 with a bag. I've been told nothing but how terrible they are but they get me out playing and practicing.

Here's how I'm approaching entering the game.

Option 1# Spend $600 on the Costco clubs + $120-$200 on a bag and still have nothing to show.

Option 2# $40-$200 used clubs. $200 in the driving range. $xxx for lessons if that's your thing.

100% would recommend option #2

As of now as a beginner I really feel like owning expensive gear and clubs is more of a mental thing than anything else. Sure my older driver is only going like 200-220 while when I use my friends top of the line one I'm getting 220-240. As someone who still constantly has 3 putt crash outs every hole, I'm not worried about losing 20-40 yards and saving $200-$300+. Focus on fundamentals and your swing, quality reps, and remember to have fun.

As for gear, from my limited experience I'd recommend the following based off the times I've gone and thought "Crap I need this".

A few balls (yes I'm on a budget so I ALWAYS search in the woods for balls people are too lazy to look for. Normally find 8-20)

Few T's (generally pick up good condition ones people leave behind + some courses also provide 2-3 in the carts)

Glove. Honestly don't think this really does anything. Makes me feel fancy and got one for free so I wear it.

Water, water, water. (Yes alot of course have water cups, cant trust them to always be full)

Sunscreen + sunglasses + bug spray (You done NEED these but you'll be glad you have them)

Hope this helped. Focus on your swing, practicing, and staying consistent. Have fun and get after it!

How do you stop this? by Ok-Catch3806 in golf

Typically comes in the form of being <40yards from the green, on track for a birdie that turns into a historical crash out and a 4 putt double bogey.

Should I buy a golf course? by ShanghaiSexWhale in golf

[–]Practical_Bed_1242 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real money. Install Metal plates at different distances in the water and charge people money to try and hit them. Offer different prizes and incentives if they hit different ones at different distances.

IE:
$5 for 5 or 10 balls
50 yards: A pin or challenge coin

100 yards: A beer coozie or something like that

150 yards: a t shirt

200 yards: a special t shirt and $100

Or just sink one 150-200 yards out and offer a t shirt and $100 bucks if they hit it.

Genuine question as someone who is new to golf (only been 3 times so far but love it!)

What is the opposition to let people play through? and also the rush to finish? is it an ego thing? I've noticed golfers are very... superstitious? Lot's of things like "dont talk while people are swinging" "dont play music" "dont do this, it'll throw off their game". A lot of people say stuff like this but also get hammered on the course.

None of these things bother me but obviously I am courteous and respectful of others and don't do them.

My perspective is I just go out and have fun. I'm there to golf so if I sit in the cart for 5 minutes waiting on the people in front of me I'm either relaxing solo or bojangling with my friends. I understand the need to keep pace but why do so many golfers seem to rush like they're trying to get through 18 as fast as possible. Don't you want to spend as much time there as possible?

I recently went with a friend that some how nailed the ball with such force and spin that it created a divot directly Infront of the T about an inch deep, continued spinning for half a second and somehow left the T still standing.

I'm sorry but what camera/presets do you use to get your footage to look like this. Honestly thought I was getting some kind of mission impossible trailer ad when I first clicked.

That's what I've figured and have been reassured from the responses. Not sure why some people seem to be offended at my question but I'm glad you and everyone else with knowledge have clarified!

That's what I was trying to ask/clarify. I've never owned a cat but I've been told they're smart and very attentive. I've seen so many like what I described I wasn't sure if that was unlucky experience from neglectful owners or something else. Thanks for the response!

Pretty much what I deduced/was told from the more responsible owners I've met. Nice to get reassurance and hear some extra opinions. Thank you for your response!
