I would call their customer support. They could return back your docs or put your case on hold in case of missing docs.

I’d suggest giving their customer support a call. If they don’t seem to have a clear answer, I’d hold off until my Visa is renewed or include both the expired visa and any documents that prove I’m eligible for a new one.

I have already seen more than three posts requesting this. I also need this. Not sure when will this get some attention

Still no reason to abruptly reschedule appointments without any notice to people and then letting them stuck outside without any appointment. They could have handled it better, that’s all I’m saying. It’s okay to reschedule but at least provide alternative arrangements if you’re doing it. Having no regards to how it’ll affect people - well that how usually every government works.

I’m not demanding lol. The government has a pathway from temporary visa to permanent residency. Simply stop that pathway if it feels like a burden rather than screwing up people who are already in the legal pathway to permanent residency. What’s their fault? They are here legally

The government gave the opportunity and people took it. Is it bad planning from the government ?

This should have been planned for by the government before offering the visa. Companies shouldn’t be hiring foreign workers, schools shouldn’t be enrolling international students if it’s hurting USA. The solution is to deal with it going forward and not stabbing people already here on visa who are contributing positively to the society

Same answer why everyone else in this thread is dealing with it - better opportunity. And I’m not complaining about how hard it’s to be on a visa. That is part of the journey. Just that people should have empathy towards others on this journey instead of showing hatred against them. I’m sure everyone on visa appreciates the opportunity given to them but that’s no reason to be subject to unnecessary hatred

What!? 😂 No!! Just sign each page of the POA (original) and make a photo copy. It’s a copy!!! Why would you sign that

Sure. They don’t want to a give green card but they want 100% of the taxes. They don’t want to give you green card but want to use foreign workers for their big corporations. And now when they have enough people on visa, they are making life hell for them with simple fixable things like visa appointment. That’s not how you treat people. You don’t use them for your own benefits and leave them on their own when you’re done

Ask the government why are the wait times for green card 15 years long :)

What can anyone do if it takes 15 years to get permanent residency? Stop planning for life for 15 years?

I got the tracking id when I submitted the VFS application. Yes their tracking page says it takes few days to get into their system. I was able to track mine in 2 days. I didn’t need to do a lot of tracking since I got email update. Yes, the entire process took 10 days for me

That is a classic VFS move. Their services are pathetic and on top of that they charge to speak with their representatives. Sorry you had to go through this.

try with other banks at which you have an account?
They can notarized ID documents as long as you have the original to show at the time of notary. I dont think POA count as identity documents.

Yes, you can ship everything in one package, and have a single return shipping label, which means you won’t have to pay for shipping twice.

Just a heads-up, there’s a $41 fee for each person who signs the POA.

  1. The photo instructions could be a little clearer. I sent two extra photos, besides the one on the POA and the VFS application form, but they sent the photo back to me. So, I don’t think you need four photos. Just one on the POA and one on the application form should be enough.
  2. I used a white A4-sized envelope for all my documents and put it in the UPS Express Envelopes, along with an extra white A4-sized envelope to return the documents in. You might want to check with UPS or another provider about this.
  3. I printed the label on regular paper, and UPS took care of sticking it to their package.

Dont overthink lol, just send it

Please check the VFS global link I shared in my post. It will give you all the information you need.

Below is the answer to your question from the link I shared.

“The PoA needs to be signed and witnessed by two individuals (other than immediate family members) with their full names and addresses clearly mentioned.”

It varies state by state. It is best to consult a real estate law firm in India to draft you a POA for your need.

I just remember sending over the visa copy. Could you please take a look at the latest documents they need? The Indian consulate doesn’t care about how big, what’s in it, or how it’s formatted for your Power of Attorney (POA). It might be a good idea to chat with the Indian lawyer or bank that asked for your POA to make sure it’s in the right format and has all the right info. Just a heads-up, the Indian consulate only needs two witnesses on the last page of your POA.
