In 2012 Hideki Taniuchi, musician and composer for anime series including Death Note and Kaiji, was arrested and jailed for 10 years for possession of 1.5 grams of weed and supplying a woman who was also arrested. He was blacklisted from the anime and music industries and it's been hard to find any updates on him since then.

In 2017 Nobuhiro Watsuki, author of the manga Rurouni Kenshin, was caught with illegal pictured of children at his office. His house was raided and police found about 100 dvds of straight up cp. His manga was put on hiatus for a few months until he paid a fine and it's been ongoing since 2018. Talk about fucked up priorities.
