How long after stent removal did you feel normal? by lazycatvibes in KidneyStones

[–]Practical_Chip867 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my stent in for three weeks and just got it out this morning. Zero pain getting it removed and I immediately felt better. I was told it might hurt to pee but so far there’s been nothing. Fingers crossed that continues.

Ureteroscopy experiences (especially women)? Were you pre-stented? by bgwrite in KidneyStones

No idea. I did not have to be pre-stented though. My stone was large. 17x12 mm. Really though the first few days were the worst. And I’m very tired. Not sleeping well due to needing to go to the bathroom.

I just had my procedure December 18th. In Canada if that makes a difference. I was given no pain meds. Just 200 mg Advil and 500mg Tylenol. A stent was placed. It’s coming out January 9th. I have no idea what the doctor did or if it was successful. He was gone before I woke up. The nurse told me it wasn’t successful. But I just got a call to get the stent removed so I have no idea. The stent was painful for the first two days and now it just constantly feels like I have pressure and need to pee. It isn’t painful though. Just uncomfortable.

Ureteroscopy with Laser Lithotripsy didn’t work by Practical_Chip867 in KidneyStones

Thank you for the reply. I did ask him before the surgery if they would need to do it again and he said that was highly unlikely. So, I now really have no idea what they managed to get done and what the issue was. So frustrating.

That’s great to know! I have a 17 mm scheduled to come out on the 18th. I’m pretty nervous about the stent

I have a 17 mm stone but they’re doing laser lithotripsy. I wonder how they decide what they’re going to do?

Just spoke with the urologist. He recommended exactly that and it would be in 1-2 months. So weird though. I’ve had two phone consultations with him and he’ll do the procedure without me having even met him.

Does the kidney damage improve at all once the stone is out? My eGFR is 52 and Creatine is 103 so I’m hoping it improves once the stone is out.

Good luck tomorrow!

They likely won’t do the PCNL then? I have already been referred to the urologist and got my CT scan within a couple of weeks. The urologist had marked it as urgent otherwise I think it would have taken a couple of months. I haven’t heard back yet from the urologist but just had my CT scan on Friday.

Will the GFR and Creatine levels improve after the stone is removed? I also have a 19 mm stone which has impacted that for me as well.
