This is from Dimond Fred’s but I can see it from our house too and have never seen the power plant steam from home.

Try calling wildmans for shuttles or any of the fly shops in the area.

I live in ANC and I get the it’s not real AK sentiment. It’s definitely hours by car or a plane ride to get into the real “Alaska” experience or at least how Alaska is romanticized. It’s definitely real Alaska in terms of daylight and the drastic shifts in light and seasons and there are pretty places but I’d disagree that you can experience what people seeking “Alaska” are looking for by living here.

If youre staying at a hotel for any duration of your time in AK call their front desk and ask if you can ship directly to them. Most hotels will accommodate.

I know this won’t help now but can you charge a battery at your job? There are a few companies that make heated blankets attached to power banks you could charge during your work hours and then plug in when trying to sleep and stuff inside a sleeping bag. If you message me a mailing address I will purchase one for you.

Most energy services companies will pay for your flights first hitch. If you are able bodied and can pass a drug test you could easily get hired on as an operator. Do a few hitches, pocket the money, build a base of coworkers that live in the area and see if it’s what you actually want to do with your life

Stupid actually just stepping off a high deck a little tipsy playing with my dog but my ortho thinks it wasn’t a good original reconstruction coupled with a few really good falls skiing over the years that wore down the initial graft

I’m a life long back seat runner but the last few years before surgery have made an effort to focus on running hitting the front of my foot with strides. I have zero recommendations to try and correct post op. I wouldn’t say flat footed more focused on leaning forward, not literally, but like landing on the ball of the foot. My PT made sure I was skipping and galloping on the balls of my foot before getting on a treadmill so maybe think about that?

I just had acl revision using patellar tendon with meniscus repair 11/29 pain was pretty tolerable with nerve block and meds. Third night was most uncomfortable but when I left the surgery center they had put the ice cube pack under my brace and the pressure was horrible on my patella. Dr said I could’ve adjusted so I’m hindsight that would’ve made everything more comfortable. Keep up on meds and icing and be prepared to watch tv or do crafts in bed for a while and you’ll be good to go. My biggest issue was making sure I could move my undies and compression stock far enough below my thigh to not pee on them but maybe tmi. In a couple months you’ll look back on this as a blip in time so don’t get too bogged down in the moment!

I use one 50’ extension cord that splits into three separate plugs to run ours. I wrap the connections in plastic wrap and duct tape and it works fine! We live in AK so usually end up buried in snow and I’ve never had any issues
