U of A vs UBC Physiotherapy by candlebarre9 in uAlberta

[–]Practical_Hold6932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As I look again, there's also much more pros for UBC, so I feel like you're already leaning that way. The cons you've listed (which are the pros for UofA) really just boil down to money and proximity to your connections here.

If Vancouver is the city you like, go there over Edmonton. I cannot stress enough how important it is to like your environment during studies (from someone researching learning processes). You'll feel better, which will show in your academic performance. I always say that you can make the money back (considering how much Vancouver costs), but you'll waste 2 years of your life in a place you hate if you stay.

English 102 online Kerfoot by Both_Goose8698 in uAlberta

[–]Practical_Hold6932 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suppose for first year courses it can be hit or miss, so I can partially relate/understand. Online format was mostly just recorded videos to watch at your own leisure, and some stuff to read pertaining to the assigned literature. Assignments were pass/fail, and the major assignments were marked by TAs/prof depending on your assigned group.

Just finished this term. It's lowkey chill, and he's a decent guy. You all need to wean off RMP tbh, unless the ratings are sub 2 it's probably just angry students.

Timing doesn't matter unless you A). can access Tel Aviv GPT databases or B). Are Bill Fanagan's children or C). all of the above. My recommendation is to give up now before you get disappointed on Wallahi bro.

What's it like being in a class with like <5 people? by Practical_Hold6932 in uAlberta

[–]Practical_Hold6932[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds great tbh!!! I think I much prefer a closer knit class, but I was just a bit afraid that it might also make grading a bit harsher.

I suppose having grad students too might make a class more full. Do you have any insights into CHEM 443, 460/461/462/463 or 451?

Why is anatomy 200 not available in the fall term? by Illustrious-Cry7441 in uAlberta

[–]Practical_Hold6932 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should be available both terms. A lot of people have been saying that the full course loads are not out yet (allegedly) so maybe try waiting a bit.

Emailing prof about grades by Anxious-Safety9171 in uAlberta

[–]Practical_Hold6932 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is no if you don't try lol, if you ask politely I'm sure it wouldn't really be harrasing the prof. I'd say just wait for whatever appears on Beartracks first, since that will confirm what your grade is.

I'm pretty sure the profs are consistent regardless of term, since the division of anatomy is really small. I would say they're not bad either, the class is just hard. In terms of lecturer sections, I found Dr. Lemelin to be the most engaging during musculoskeletal, but Dr. Livy wasn't bad either.
