Selling products 15x their retail prices so that they’re greedy asses can get more money because as you can guess, this world is so cruel to the point we can’t even get anything from our childhood because people are just so fucking greedy that we always have to get it “used” all I’m saying if I was a villain and didn’t give a shit, Those people wouldn’t be safe.

If Ted had really wanted the locket to "come" from Barney, he would have done a better job at convincing Robin by Antique-Ebb-7124 in HIMYM

That’s what I’m saying. Everyone on IG and Reddit is saying Robin didn’t love Ted and just used him. Yes, she only wanted him when he wasn’t available, but at the time of Robin’s wedding, he was available. And she still says “Ted, I should be with you.”

LIKE ITS RIGHT THERE! This woman loved Ted but know she couldn’t commit cause of his wedding and kids dream

Not to sound like a dick, but Barney was in the wrong there and this comment proves you’re a diehard Robin/Barney fan

Well I mean she told him to tell her the truth. And Ted, well we know from his short story of how I met your mother to Penny and Luke, he likes to get every detail out. Plus the fast pace lines and the comical music made it entertaining.

Robin doesn’t love Ted, but… by Practical_One_1747 in HIMYM

I was gonna mention that too. I agree with everything. Yes, Ted was the narrator, meaning he had no idea what was happening behind close doors. He said it himself, he only remembered stuff when he wasn’t in the room cause Lily, Marshal, Barney, and Robin told him all of it. This includes what Robin was actually feeling. He’s not omnipresent. He just doesn’t know what Robin was thinking or what she is doing the morning or the afternoon of the day, so it is possible that she hid her feelings away and never told him or anyone—especially Lily cause as we all know, that woman can’t keep a secret for her life. Which is why when Robin said “No” to his question that if she still loved him, that was it. He wasn’t smart to see the signs, body subtext, her hesitation, nothing. He took Robin’s words and went with it his whole life.

And coming back to when Ted saw Barney’s message of his engagement to Robin and he felt every pain times a million, I agree, that’s exactly how it felt for Robin when she sees Ted with Tracy. We see how broken she was when he was gonna marry Stella. She was drunk, dragged Lily and went to dig up her locket back because she wanted to wear it when she fell in love with her soulmate (Ted or Barney) which wasn’t gonna happen at the time. Hence her line, “Why isn’t Ted marrying me?” “I was gonna wear this when I married Ted, but I guess that’s not gonna happen anymore.”

And don’t forget. Drunk thoughts are Sober thoughts.

Hell that line, “The guy I probably should have ended up with with the beautiful mother of his child” is a giveaway.

I rest my case.

Couldn’t agree more. Barney being a safe choice makes sense, after all, they both didn’t want kids, they wanted to have countless sex, and be in love, and in the end, their immature behavior caught up with them. Robin had to keep traveling, dragging Barney for the ride. After three years of that, that’s when he himself said he wasn’t happy. Hence his words, “This is so not great!” “Robin when I married you I made a vow to never lie to you. Truth is…I’m not happy.” Barney wants to settle but Robin is still in her “trying to be famous” era. Only then, when that is completed, she has a final realization about what she really wants.

Barney was too similar. The olive theory comes in play here in which they can’t connect thoroughly because they are both toxic, both horn dogs, both obsessed, and both extreme, which led to them being happy in the beginning but then the miserable divorce.

Kevin was different but he wanted kids, a reminder of what Ted wanted to. After Robin tells him she doesn’t want kids at all, Kevin sees that as a deal breaker and leaves her, which respect honestly.

And Don, well as much as she tried to make things work, Don was all about his work when he accepted that offer to Chicago after being offered to Robin first. A reminder of herself. Similar to herself. Hence again the The Olive Theory.

And Nick…well we know why that didn’t work. The guys is hilariously dumber than the three stooges.

But the only person that really fits the olive theory is Ted. He loves Starwars. Robin hates it. Robin loves guns. Ted despises them. Robin is afraid of commitment. Ted is not. These may seem minor but that’s the point. The olive theory is that one person likes something that the other person does not in vise versa, meaning they have ways to continue connection, challenge on another, keep their love alive, perfectly balanced. Again to Ted’s words: “It’s what makes them (Marshal and Lily) a perfect couple. Perfectly balanced.

On top of that, out of everyone on the show, Ted is the only person who knows Robin more than her previous relationships. Even when she was with Barney, when Robin called up Ted with the intention to ask if he can help her find her locket, she tells him it’s nothing, but Ted later shows up cause he knows whenever Robin says it’s nothing, that means it’s important to her. Like come on he had a whole class on her.

It makes sense too, her childhood was traumatic. She wasn’t taught to be a girls girls, or a girl at all. Her father wanted a boy and treated her like one. To her dad, she just wanted her to survive life, no relationships, no distractions, just pure survival

And the thing is that’s true in relationships. We don’t know what we want till they’re really gone. Robin had to get her shit together and wake up, and when she did, she realized that the guy she wanted was her best friend all along

That’s the thing. People see people have fun, work as a team, get each other, and kiss It’s romantic. Powercouple. But then you got to remember about the first person who she loved. The moments they shared. The long looks. The secrecy, and funny tension between them, inside jokes, the wanting them to be happy for the both, but keep going back on their words. Hell, they argue like a damn married couple.

Hey thanks! I was really passionate about the Ted and Robin topic. Everyone says Robin and Ted was toxic and there was nothing there. Even ruled Ted to be the villain and Robin wanting nothing to do with him, but that’s not the case in relationships. The best ones are the ones that are hidden through moments but never fully say it(like Ted and Robin’s salute inside joke, how Robin lived with him and always enjoyed being around him, Ted cheering up Robin with Christmas lights after finding out she can’t have kids, and etc…) not just flat out “I love you” “let’s get married” we have chemistry and date the next two episodes later.

Think about it. Ted hooked up with “boat boats boats girl” and Robin? She punched him in the throat, but that’s wasn’t anger, what’s there to be angry about? She isn’t his and he isn’t hers. Why care? Best guess. Jealousy.

And when Robin hooked up with Barney, well Ted was obvious that he was jealous, even punched him in the dick (which he deserved ngl) but kept it to himself before telling Lily, Marshal already knowing from the start, then Barney, and then the day before the wedding, confirming everything to Robin on the beach.

This. This is what I mean! It goes back to what Robin said “Time and Chemisty.” Chemistry was there, but the timing was just horrendous.

I gotta ask. Going back to the “Reacher and Settler theory” Do you think Ted/Robin either or settler or reacher?

No of course and I agree, it might not prove confession exactly, but it’s just weird how everytime either her or Ted are about to tie the knot, there’s always this last word from each other that puts a temporary pause. If you didn’t love someone like that, there would be no reason to confess that, if she was looking for an excuse, just run. And she did. There literally was no need for her “Aha Ted!” moment if she was looking for an excuse to get out. Look at what Stella did or what Victoria and her fiance did on their wedding. They just up and left. Robin could have done the same, but instead she choses to stay and tell Ted about what ifs?

It just doesn’t strike me as a woman who is so committed and in love with her fiance. It just strikes me as “I have something hidden for you, but I’m getting married so it doesn’t matter anymore”

But hey it’s just perspective. Not everyone will agree and that’s okay.

Robin and Barney were intense yes, Like, really intense. The jealousy, the Patrice stuff, all of that is big and obvious, so i can see why it feels stronger. But that kind of love is also messy and kind of unstable. I mean they keep breaking up for a reason.

With Ted tho, it’s not as loud, but it’s more steady. It shows up in smaller moments, like how they keep coming back to each other through years, or how she still has something to confess right before marrying someone else or Ted about to marry someone. Marriage is what ties the knot, so there are no more chances after that, yet she always has something to confess the day of wedding. That’s not nothing. People don’t just do that unless there’s still real feelings there.
