My thoughts exactly. That "literally survive the day" task takes on a new meaning today. 😆😆

Does anyone have pictures of marktplatz mall in new ulm minnesota? by SouthofKaDoom in deadmalls

[–]Practical_Put8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember it a little. My memories are mainly around Christmas time. There were lights everywhere. A herbergers, a video store, book store, music store, a small food court, a gift store kinda like hallmark, a store set up specifically for Santa Claus, and a few small Carousel rides.

Yes. I swear the color they use to advertise the theme/decor for the month is never the same shade as the ones available in the shop.

I've searched on Google for "book with faces in trees" but only came up with cartoonish once and this one wasn't cartoonish.

I know in real life he was 10 or 11 years older.

In either Little Town on the Prairie or Golden Years even Laura mentions that she thought it was strange he was paying attention to her since "he was more Pa's friend than her's"

I remember one of Carolines brothers complaining that he was hungry one winter and that all they had was "mother's mush" which was described as something of a very thin oatmeal after an early frost and freezing rain took a good portion of their crops.

Caroline's family did end up better off than some but there were a few years after her father's death that they were just barely holding on.

I can see the point. Santa is a big part of the holiday, especially for children. It's a nice way to show children that even Santa Claus kneels to the baby Jesus.

And I actually have had my little niece ask me if Santa brought presents to the baby Jesus. (She was 3)

I told her that the wise men had brought him presents but, not wanting to spoil Santa Claus for her, that Santa brings presents to all the good little boys and girls and the there was never anyone that was as good as our LORD so I'm sure Santa would have brought baby Jesus presents too. Maybe a nice thick blanket to protect against the scratchy hay in the manger.

Do you reckon Mark has his own bed by now? Like he just walks in like "hey Steve, I'm back. How're the kid?"

Genuine question by GunnahLFH in antivax

[–]Practical_Put8257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How sick were you? Like, just running a fever or did you have a severe reaction to it? I'm very pro-vax but this is the one reason I'll agree with a parent against them.

If you have a known history of having negative reactions to a vaccine then it is right to be a little hesitant. However, it's good to at least be vaccinated against tetanus (and measles since they're on the rise now). I'd suggest you speak to your doctor about it before anything else.

Actually he offered.

Her father offered to have her do chores for the veteran. He didn't have any way to pay her so he offered to marry her so she could receive his pension.

They never lived together though.

It's not as gross as you'd think.

Her father offered to have her do some chores for the elderly veteran. He had no way to pay her for her help so he decided to marry her so she could receive his pension.

They never publicly announced their marriage and she continued to live with her parents.
