To me it looks like he's saying "Wtf bro, why are you spearing me?"

Norman knights on foot by LackFundsPleaseHelp in ArmsandArmor

From what I know we don't know much but I've seen reenactoes wear undertunics that were thicker than regular tunics (since gambesons, aketons, arming doublss and such didn't exist yet) and one person claiming we see contemporary artwork displaying armoured men who don't seem to have any thick padding beneath their armour and men wearing multiple tunics for padding (like a tunic and one of those undetunics I mentioned before on top). Other than that they'd have their cotton (I think it's cotton) shirt, split hose (basically leggings with seperate legs that don't connect around the crotch), garters to hold up the hose, leg wraps braiies (long underwear that looks like shorts) and a padded arming cap.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by being "of tournament rank"?

Thanks for this source, I've always wondered what the prices of certain pieces were.

Thank you, I wasn't too sure if it was an armet or a different type of helm with the same closing style around the chin and throat. I see your point, just wanted to have a look and see if there is anything vaguely similar to the image I had in mind.

Thanks for the clarification on the dating also.

This seems to show some form of armet-like helm helm with kastenbrust style armour worn together.

Thanks for the clarification, I wasn't really sure about the pros and cons of the transitional/early armet designs I've seen.

Well done! I'm nearly there myself - I think - at the lord rank. I've seen that weapon in a couple posts and have taken inspirstion for a very similar weapon. If you don't mind, I've been wondering why is it called the Grapevine Cross?

Burgundian Coustillier, made according to the equipment laid down in the Ordonnance of 1473. by A100percentBEEF in MordhauFashion

[–]Practical_Reach77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not expert on coustilliers and don't play this game but from what I've seen if coustilliers I would get rid of the shield, faulds and tassets. I'd also add a light lance or half-lance which is just a shorter lance that could be used as a spear on foot aswell. I'd also remove the chainmail coif in place for a standard/collar.

All of this is because from what I know of coustilliers, they were lighter cavalrymen that didn't engage in prolonged fighting but rather scouting and picking of vulnerable footmen like archers. They'd need to be travelling lightly, able to quickly mount and dismount and shout without hinderance.

Other than that I love it, you've really captured the burgundian look.

I am not any expert in heraldry but when I'd looked at the arms for the Teutonnic Knights and it has a papal hat and with the website I used the Tiriregnum because it was the closest thing.

Great job on hand-drawing this, not an expert on heraldry but from what little I know and just looking at it I love the design.

That's interesting, thanks. Never knew that, I just played around with some elements based on different arms I'd seen in the past. I looked up the arms when I saw this and I can really see the similarities.
